Introduction

Whether you're new to Splinterlands or a seasoned battler, setting clear goals is essential for success. With a game as dynamic as Splinterlands, where strategy, card collection, and resource management play key roles, defining your objectives can be the difference between a casual player and a competitive. In this blog post, we explore how to set meaningful goals, why they're important, and how you can stay on track in the Splinterlands universe. Also we'll review my previous goals and set new ones.

I must say it has been a while since i looked at my goals. I just hit a major milestone i thoughted it worthy to write again about it.

Why Set Goals in Splinterlands?

Splinterlands is more than just a card game; it’s a rich, evolving ecosystem where players can grow their decks, improve their skills, and climb the ranks. Here’s why setting goals is crucial:

1. Progression in Ranked Play: Whether aiming for Bronze, Silver, or the top ranks of Champion, having a clear goal can guide your deck-building and strategy.

2. Building a Collection: With hundreds of cards, deciding which splinters to focus on can be overwhelming. Setting goals helps you prioritize your investments.

3. Earning Rewards: Splinterlands offers a variety of ways to earn rewards, from ranked battles to tournaments and daily quests. A well-defined goal will ensure you maximize your earnings.

I notice when I set myself goals it keeps me motivated to continue to progress in this game. Most often I overachieve my own goals👍.

Track Your Progress

Once you’ve defined your goals, tracking your progress is key to staying motivated. Use tools like spreadsheets or apps to track your deck collection, rewards, and battle performance over time.

First i started with a spreadsheet later i created a free open source tool that everybody can start using.

Stay Flexible

While setting goals is crucial, remember that flexibility is equally important. The game meta (strategies and card combinations) can change due to new cards, balance updates, or other factors. Stay adaptable and be willing to adjust your goals as you grow as a player or as the game evolves.

For me this past year i keep on adapting to modern/wild. playing manually or let the bot run for a few seasons. Every season taking a look on how do i need to improve. More tournaments/buy or rent certain cards etc.

Community Involvement

One of the most valuable resources in Splinterlands is its community. Joining a guild or being active on forums and social media platforms will not only provide you with valuable insights but can also help you set new goals. Community discussions often highlight new strategies, meta changes, and upcoming events you can prepare for.

I still think the community is great and willing to help out new players with question and struggles they got. Splinterlands is not a easy start, stick with it and you will learn. I see the game as easy to play and onboard hard to master in a higher leagues. The whole crypto Hive blockchain can be daunting also here take it slow do not try to understand everything at once and ask question.

This is the place where my investment sustainable. If I go further in diamond also my next set should be upgraded to diamond to be competitive. I notice it is to hard to maintain that level of investment.

My Splinterlands Goals for 2024/2025

This time I found it challenging to set myself some concrete goals. Here is what i have defined.

1. Scaling Down to One Account:
   Currently, I manage three separate accounts, but I’ve decided to streamline my gameplay and focus on just one main account.
   I want to play manually again, without the distractions of juggling multiple profiles.
   By focusing on a single account, I’ll be able to invest more time into strategy and enjoy the game more deeply.
   This goal this might change over time depending on time i can spend playing earning by my bot and my manually playing.
   
   

2. Investing in the upcoming core edition or mini Set:
   In terms of investment, I’m aiming to put $800 into the next major expansion, whether it's the new core set or a mini set release.
   This is an increase from the $500 I invested in the previous (Rebellion) edition, and I’m excited to see the new cards and strategies that come with it.
   The extra (300$) budget comes from blog earnings, including posts like this one, which I’ve been saving to reinvest into Splinterlands. Part is going to growing my Hive account other part is into HBD saving for this new edition that is coming.
   Lately i become more aware to also invest more into hive and the total community. And explore other communities. I have balanced the earning and power down to grow slowly in hive and splinterland.
   
   

3. Improving My Open Source Splinterlands Statistics Tool:
   Another personal goal is to continue developing my free, open-source Splinterlands statistics tool.
   This tool has been a passion project, and I’m eager to keep improving it to help the community track their progress and optimize their gameplay.
   
   

4. Staying Active in My Guild:
   I plan to remain active in guild brawls, contributing to my team’s success.
   Being part of a supportive and engaged guild, especially one that hosts weekly voice chats on Discord, has been one of my favorite aspects of Splinterlands.
   I’ll continue to participate and help out wherever I can, enjoying the camaraderie and shared victories and losses.
   
   

5. Becoming a Card Collector:
   Lastly, One of my long-term goals is to gaining the title (discord) card collector, with the ambitious target of owning 2.5 Million Collection Power (CP). This is a challenging and costly goal, as it requires a substantial investment. However, I believe that with time and dedication, perhaps over the course of a few expansions, I can steadily build up my collection. It’s a long-term goal, but one that will not only enhance my gameplay but also allow me to have more flexibility in ranked play and guild brawls.

Conclusion

Setting goals in Splinterlands isn't just about becoming a better player—it's about enjoying the journey.
Whether you’re aiming to hit the next rank, build a collection of powerful cards, or develop new strategies, having clear objectives will keep you motivated and focused.
Stay flexible, track your progress, and most importantly, enjoy the the process/the battles as you grow in the game.
