1913, 1000 Reis Brazilian silver coin 🌄

The second coin in the @ronaldoavelino prize pack from sgs monster raffle III is in real nice condition.

If you don't remember Rono's posts they were mostly graded coins with a photo of both sides, the coins specs, and a few words about the coin from Ronaldo.

Here is an example from 2018. Awesome. As you can see from that post, most his coins were in fantastic condition.

He was also a wealth of information and was usually happy to answer questions. He has not posted since 2020, though I did see his status dot turn green on Discord a few weeks back, so I figure he's around doing something better these days ;)

Back to the second coin from that prize pack, which is a 1000 Reis, minted in 1913. This coin weighs 10 grams in total, with an actual silver weight (ASW) of ASW: 0.2894oz.

Beauty, eh? Looks like there were just over 2.5m of these coins minted back in 1913

Like the 500 Reis, this one is also the last year the 1000 Reis was minted in 90% silver. It was not minted again until the year 1922 when it was minted using a aluminum/bronze mix.

Like the 500 Reis, the 1000 has the same design on the obverse 👆

Like the 500 Reis I posted the other day, this one was minted in Berlin, Germany and has an ensription in the banner under the star commemorating the Proclamation of the Republic of Brazil in 1889.

Have a great day #stackers
