Continuing our series of the American Half Dollars Commemoratives, we will today present the 1951-D "Booker T. Washington".
As all the commemorative half dollars, it weights 12,5g with a 90% silver purity.
This coin was produced to honor one of America's best known black educators, Booker T. Washington.
The obverse features a portrait of Washington, based on a life mask of him.
On the reverse we see an image of the Hall of Fame at New York University and a log cabin.
A total of 7,004 coins were distributed by the Denver Mint on 1951. The actual price is around U$200.00 in this grade.
This series will continue very soon.
