There are no downsides to that AFAIK. I'd be totally down with that.

I just see how comments on other sites that moderate them are impacted by moderation, and don't want Steem to facilitate echo chambers to that degree. Something needs to be done to preclude the kind of spam @edicted is suffering though, because it's not just offensive to @edicted, it's a problem for the blockchain itself.

Given how bernie runs his bots, I assume the captcha wouldn't stop him from posting that pic, since he can simply put the pic in a comment thousands of times, rather than make a thousand comments with the pic in it.
