About a month ago I started to release free-to-collect NFTs to commemorate each released chapter of The Childseeker's War. Anyone can collect these by subscribing to my Cent.co page.
โจ The Collector's Editions are shiny, gold paid versions of each bookmark.
๐ณ Cent is experimenting with purchase by credit card, in pursuit of making web3 experiences align more with web2 expectations.
ย
๐ฒ Pricing and mint limits
The Collector's Edition NFT Bookmarks will be priced anywhere between $2 and $20 USD. The initial chapters will have a max mint limit of 25, though the supply will be less if subscribers don't scoop them all up.

๐ 25% for Childseeker War giveaways
Every week, I run giveaways here on Hive for new and loyal readers alike. I currently fund them out of pocket, and will continue to do so! But it'd be amazing to give them a significant boost with some income from supporters. Even a single sale per week would have a noticeable impact ๐
ย
โ๏ธ 25% for web3 writing guild and DAO support
The Scholar and Scribe creative writing community is instrumental to my efforts in serializing fiction on web3. It is the glue that connects the vision of general web3 publishing to authorship here on Hive. Support with funds could manifest as:
- Developing utility for the community tokens (e.g. a buyback wall, helping fund dev work, creating new fiction projects)
- Boosting community prize pools
- Increasing paid marketing efforts (e.g. Ecency or PeakD boosts)
- Delegating HP to the community account
ย
The DAO in question is PageDAO, which has already forged a partnership with S&S. Where S&S focuses on community and content, PageDAO is deep into the interchain technology of web3 publishing. They've successfully created a gorgeous NFT Book minter for Polygon and are rapidly expanding towards proliferation on the Cosmos 'internet of blockchains.'
I think PageDAO is well positioned to ride the next wave of web3 up as a leader in the publishing space. Support for this DAO may include:
- Elevating their presence and impact here on Hive
- Contributing to liquidity pools across key chains
- Developing and managing marketing efforts as part of the DAO
ย
๐ 20% for Hive support
It all revolves around Hive for me, so I want to make sure the general ecosystem sees some benefit from any of my non-Hive NFT sales! I don't have a specific plan for where the funds will go besides being turned into HIVE tokens, then being powered up (staked) or spent supporting other communities and projects on the chain.
Some of my favourite Hive projects, apart from S&S, include: Hive Pizza, Rising Star, dCrops, Listnerds, DreemPort, and many more!
ย
๐๏ธ 25% for personal use
None of this works if I can't pay the bills! This initial sale of Collector's Editions is also something of an experiment to gauge how drawing income from web3 even worksโtax time will be interesting to say the least.
ย
๐ ๏ธ Utility
Currently, the only utility offered by these NFTs is in the support initiatives described above. If you believe in what I'm doing and/or writing, buying these NFTs will further enable me + the organizations I support.
The NFTs can be sold and transferred on the Polygon network, as you'd expect.
I have all kinds of future wishes and intents for adding gated content, exclusive access, airdrops, etc. etc. for holdersโbut all that relies on my getting access to the right tech and being able to continue this wacky web3 publishing adventure. I don't like making promises like that before the functionality has arrived, no matter how bullish or enthusiastic I may be ๐. So please consider these NFT as collectable content only, and assume that's all they may ever be!
ย
๐ฎ Future Editions
I intend to create 2nd and 3rd editions of these bookmarks, likely on different chains. The whens and wheres of that have yet to be determined.
