AMAZING Brussel Sprouts with Pancetta and secret sauce!

In the past the standard way to cook brussel sprouts was boil and butter. Boring! Now brussel sprouts are a staple in every craft restaurant menu. When cooked right, these mini cabbages are absolutely delish.

People have asked me for my secret sauce recipe and I've kept it to myself. I've decided to share it with my fellow steemians in the spirit of the holidays. I hope you guys enjoy!

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 pound brussel sprouts
  • 1/3 lb of fresh pancetta
  • 3 cloves of garlic
  • pepper to taste

** For sauce: **

  • 2 tbs seasame oil
  • 1/4 cup hoisin sauce
  • 3 tbs soy sauce
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 tsp red chili flakes
  • 2 tbs honey

DIRECTIONS:

** 1. Cut off ends of sprouts. **

** 2. Cut brussel sprouts lengthwise in half. **

** 3. Heat skillet to medium high heat and sautee chopped pancetta with garlic. Take contents out of pan and set aside. **

** 4. In same skillet cook sprouts flat side down until golden brown. **

** 5. While the brussel sprouts are cooking, make sauce in a small bowl. Combine all sauce ingredients and mix well. **

** 6. When all the sprouts are brown and tender, return pancetta mixture to skillet. **

** 7. Add sauce mixture to skillet with sprouts and pancetta and cook on medium while stirring all ingredients together. **

** 8. Remove from heat, serve and enjoy! **
