ENERGY DRINK DIY - Create your own energy drink, simple, easy and healthy !

Hey steemers!

Today, energy drinks are a real success. And yet, the word "energizing" does not mean anything, it is a trade name. Manufacturers praise them as products that stimulate the physical and intellectual. Adolescents love it, but abuse can lead to health problems and they are not recommended for sports.

These drinks contain doubtful products. First, the caffeine level is four to five times higher than what sodas usually contain. Second, taurine is a product that has bad reputation. Contrary to what we believe, it is not extracted from the testicles of bull but from the bile.

Overdosage of taurine may cause anxiety attacks, heart attacks or even epileptic seizures. Thirdly, Glucuronolactone (a sugar naturally present in the body), present in these drinks, is highly over-dosed. At high doses, it is suspected of being toxic to the kidneys!

Mixed with alcohol, energy drinks mask the signs of intoxication. Thus, we will feel able to drive a car despite a blood alcohol level too high. We do not measure the seriousness of the facts.

This drink can be drunk even if you do sports and it will give you energy! Indeed, drinking pure water is not enough. The drink of the endurance effort must be isotonic. There is isotonia when the density of the drink is close to the density of the blood, this allows a faster assimilation.

For one liter, you will need:

  • a liter of water
  • 4/5 sugars
  • 2 lemons
  • 1 pinch of salt

Mix a the ingredients together and voila!

There is water to rehydrate you, sodium to compensate for the losses of the sweat, carbohydrates for energy and lemon for vitamins and flavor. You can replace water with tea, sugar by honey and salt with baking soda.

It is a healthy energy drink that has nothing to do with this chemical creation that is the energy drink that many health organizations denounce the danger of abusing it!
