Happy Thanksgiving, Part II

Dessert On Thanksgiving Day, Part II

This is Part II, of my Thanksgiving Day revels. Check out Part I, Here

Whenever family and friends gather, we inevitably feast. We laugh, We tell Stories, We laugh more, and we feast. And a big part of Feasting involves Desserts, too.

Our traditional American Thanksgiving involved me making the Turkey, Stuffing, Garlic Smashed Potato, Maple Glazed Balsamic Brussels Sprouts. My Youngest daughter made some amazing Apps, my oldest played bartender (we do on occasion, have a cocktail or two), and my wife actually made some desserts! I can cook. I so far, have not mastered Baking!

Above: A few nights ago, we made some sauces. We made some filling for an apple pie, pumpkin pie, and for Lemon Meringue.

Pie Crusts

If you've ever made pies, or bread, you know that look: Flour everywhere!

Above: this year, we decided on Mini Pies, instead of a few Huge pies. Each person could then have a mini pie, and taste each type the enjoyed, without over eating.

Simple, roll out the dough, cut the shape with a cookie cutter, and crimp it into the pie tin. A tip my wife passed along, since the mini crusts had no weight, as we pre bake then, we have to add some pie crust weights, to help hold their shape while baking. Once done, each crust fits in the palm of your hand.

Below: A Swedish Tradition, Kaffe Bolle, Coffee Bread, is something even this Hardened Greek can get behind. A sweet bread roll, with Cardimon and a butter pat baked inside, it is topped with Egg Wash and Sugar.

I spoke in the Part I Post about who I am thankful for.

I am thankful

Sure, the people are most important to me, but it's also important that I recognize, I am lucky.

I live in relative peace. My country is not under invasion by the Russian Terror state. My lights are on, and my heat is on. I have a healthy garden, healthy food stocks preserved, and abundance I can shop for. I have clothes and transportation, and an amazing career.

My family is healthy.

I do not have needs that are unmet.
Someday, we'll to find a way, #Dreemers of #dreemport, gather and laugh together. We'll tell stories of how we met, where we come from. We'll share our worlds with each other in person, and we'll become even closer. @dreemport, will be that much closer, more real and we'll truly be family. Until then, we'll gather online, at DreemPort, or in the DreemPort Discord, or thru our posts and takes steps on our Journey to see each other in person.

with Cheers,

Greg @bluefinstudios
