"Say My Name" is a song by American group Destiny's Child from their second studio album, "The Writing's on the Wall", released on July 14, 1999. It was also released as the third single from "The Writing's on the Wall" on October 14, 1999. "Say My Name" was written by Beyoncé Knowles, LeToya Luckett, LaTavia Roberson, Kelly Rowland, LaShawn Daniels, Fred Jerkins III, and Rodney Jerkins and produced by Rodney Jerkins. While the song and single artwork featured the group's original lineup consisting of LeToya Luckett and LaTavia Roberson, the single's music video marked the introduction of the group's second lineup with replacement members Michelle Williams and Farrah Franklin. "Say My Name" was one of those songs I heard a lot in late 1999 and early 2000, and it hit like magic, and I think it still does. "Say My Name" is one of the sharpest and most well-written and fun and catchy R&B - Pop songs of the 90s. It was one of the indispensable songs of entertainment, party and dance nights. Even though it was released in late 1999, I think it was one of the best songs of the 90s, and even one of the best of the 2000s. I really miss the fun atmosphere of the 1990s, everything was more natural back then, most things seem artificial to me now.
