alternatetext

Atlas Shrugged: Part III: Who Is John Galt? is a 2014 American dystopian science fiction film directed by James Manera and starring Laura Regan, Kristoffer Polaha, and D.B. Sweeney. The film is the third and final installment in the film series based on the 1957 novel of the same name by Ayn Rand.

The film picks up where the second film left off, with the world in ruins as the government's oppressive regulations have led to widespread economic and social collapse. Dagny Taggart (Laura Regan), the head of a major railroad company, is still searching for the mysterious figure known as John Galt, who is said to be behind a strike by the world's most talented individuals.

Dagny eventually finds John Galt (Kristoffer Polaha) and learns the reason for his strike. Galt explains that he and the other strikers have withdrawn their minds from the world in order to protest the government's stifling of individualism and freedom. He argues that the government's policies have created a world where people are not free to think for themselves or to pursue their own goals. As a result, the world has become a place of stagnation and decay.

Galt also explains that the only way to save the world is for people to rediscover these values. He argues that they are essential for human progress and that without them, the world will continue to decline. He then challenges Dagny to return to the world and help rebuild it based on these principles.

The film's themes of individualism, freedom, and the importance of the individual are as relevant today as they were when the novel was first published. In a world that is increasingly becoming collectivist and statist, Atlas Shrugged: Part III: Who Is John Galt? offers a powerful defense of individual liberty.

The film was a critical and commercial failure, grossing only $1.2 million against a budget of $20 million. However, the film has developed a cult following among fans of the novel.
