The moon over the Gulf of Mexico

Every time I see the moon I have to take a picture. I'm amazed every time I look at it and don't understand why everyone does not view it in awe.

(1) no matter where you are in the world, we all see the same exact same side of the moon, it will simply be turned depending on your angle. How is it that we are hurled through space, dragged by the sun while the moon rotates around the earth, yet we all see the same pattern on the moon. No one questions this? (2) the light of the moon is colder than the shade of the moon. If the moon is reflecting sunlight which is heat then how is the moon shade warmer than the moon light?
