Vermont USA, The Freedom and Unity State Idyllic Scenery

"Freedom and Unity" is the official motto of the U.S. state of Vermont. The motto was first adopted in 1788 for use on the Great Seal of the Vermont Republic. Ira Allen designed the Vermont seal and is often credited as its author. Wikipedia

Every Memorial Day Weekend my wife and Middlebury college buddies rent a house in Vermont specifically to avoid the official school reunion. This particular farm house in Waitsfield has been a keeper, we been coming here for about 7 years. I shared a drone video that my son shot when I reached my 100 follower milestone, linked at the end. In this new post I want to include additional pics of our weekend.

(Watch video at the end for more shots of the house and mountain ranges)

The drive is about 7 hours from Maplewood New Jersey filled with all sorts of adventures and sights.

One of our favorite places to visit is The Mad Taco and The Sweet Spot Ice cream shop located along the Mad River.

The Sweet Spot has great seating outside with a view of a covered bridge and the River.

If your ever in northern Vermont during Memorial Day Weekend make sure to stop by Waitsfield. Maybe you will run into us at Mad Taco and we can have a craft beer or a coke that doesn’t contain high fructose corn syrup.
