Magandang araw sa lahat! Ano pa ba ang sasabihin ko sa topic natin ngayon kundi mag relax, magbasabasa ng magandang libro, at makipagkwentuhan sa mga kaibigan at kapamilya. Wala naman akong naka-sked na biyahe sa ibang/malayong lugar, so dito lang sa bahay, grocery, kain sa labas, palengke, mag-brew ng kape, chill lang.

Hindi ibig sabihin nito ay hindi magiging productive ang araw ko, since naka-antabay pa rin sa blockchain at mga online gigs, yun nga lang ay iba ang pakay at priority. Sa mga weekends, kadalasan, pag wala naman gig, ay naka-focus lang sa kalusugan.WOW-Weekend of Wellness. 😌. Corny, noh? Pero, may katotohanan ito.

May mga panahon kasi sa ating buhay na kinakailangan rin natin na magpahinga dahil ito ang pinakamabisang paraan para makabawi ang ating katawan sa pagod, puyat, at pagpapapawis sa gym (disclaimer lang, matagal na pong hindi ko nakikita ang loob ng gym. Nasabi ko lang ito dahil alam ko na maraming gym rats dito sa Hive.🏋️‍♀️). Dahil sa buong linggo tayo nagtrabaho ay kinakailangan din natin ng break. Hindi lang mga gadgets ang nalo-lowbatt, Pati katawan natin ay bumababa rin ang energy level. Bukod sa pagkain ng masustansiyang pagkain, pag-inom ng tubig, at mahaba / malalim na tulog, pag-inom ng supplements, exercise sa bahay, prayers/meditation, roadtrip papunta sa beach sa Subic, hiking sa Mt. Makiling sa Los Baños, o pag-jogging sa umaga sa UP Diliman Quadrangle ay maraming pwedeng gawin para makapag-recharge at rejuvenate ng katawan dito sa siyudad.


Malaki rin ang epekto ng rest periods sa usapin ng mental health. Dahil sa nakaka stress ang mga kinakaharap natin sa trabaho / life, malaking bagay ang mga araw kung saan pwedeng mabigyan ng panahon ang ating katawan at isipan na bumawi at maghilom sa epekto ng paglipas ng panahon. Sa akin pagkakaalam ay may kakayahan ang ating katawan na gamutin ang sarili, labanan ang mga masasamang microorganisms, at i-repair o palitan ang mga matandang cells ng ating katawan (immune system, cell regeneration, DNA repair, stem cells, angiogenesis, microbiome, etc.). At sa aking munting kaalaman, bilang layman, ay pinaka-epektibo ang natural na self-repairing function ng ating katawan kung parelax-relax lang ang ating nervous system; meaning, hindi naka-overdrive dahil sa stress trigger at may adrenaline / Cortisol surge. Sa mas-magarbong termino ay hinahangad natin ang homeostasis (paki-search na lang po at hindi ko rin kayang ipaliwanag ito ng mas malalim. 😊)


Sa madaling salita, maraming kabutihan ang naidudulot sa atin ng pagpapahinga sa weekend. Maaari rin itong gawing quality bonding time sa ating pamilya, o di kaya ay makipagkita sa matagal nang di nakaka-kwentuhan na kaibigan. Kadalasan rin ay church day ang Linggo at karamihan sa atin ay nagtitipon-tipon upang magdasal at makinig sa Salita ng Diyos.

Siya, hanggang dito na lang muna. Maraming salamat sa pag-bisita. Nawa'y maging makabuluhan ang inyong weekend.

Good day everyone! What else can I say about our topic today but relax, read a good book, and talk with friends and family members. I don't have a scheduled trip to another/far away place, so just here at home, grocery, eat out, market, brew coffee, just chill.

This doesn't mean that my day won't be productive, since I'm still focused on my blockchain and online gigs, it's just that the purpose and priority are different. On the weekends, usually, when there are no gig skeds, I focus mainly on health.WOW-Weekend of Wellness. 😌. Corny, huh? But, there is truth in this.

There are times in our lives when we also need to rest because this is the most effective way for our body to recover from fatigue, all-nighters, and sweating in the gym (just a disclaimer, I haven't seen the inside of the gym in a long time. I mentioned this just because I know there are a lot of gym rats here on Hive.🏋️‍♀️). Since we worked all week, we also need a break. It's not just gadgets' batteries that are drained, our body's energy level also decrease. Besides eating nutritious food, drinking water, and long / deep sleep, taking supplements, exercise at home, prayers/meditation, a roadtrip going to the beach in Subic, hiking in Mt. Walking in Los Baños, or jogging in the morning at the UP Diliman Quadrangle, there are many things to do to recharge and rejuvenate the body here in the city.


Rest periods also have a big impact on our mental health. Because of the stressful things we face at work / life, the days where our body and mind can be given time to recover and heal from the effects of the passage of time are a big deal. As far as I know, our body has the innate ability to heal itself, fight bad microorganisms, and repair or replace the old cells of our body (immune system, cell regeneration, DNA repair, stem cells, angiogenesis, microbiome, etc .). And in my little knowledge, as a layman, the natural self-repairing function of our body is most effective if our nervous system just relaxes; meaning, not in overdrive due to stress triggers and with an adrenaline / Cortisol surge. In more fancy terms we seek homeostasis (just search it as I can't explain it in depth. 😊)


In other words, taking a weekend off can do us a lot of good. It can also be used as a quality bonding time with our family, or maybe we can meet up with a long-lost friend. Sunday is also usually a church day and most of us gather together to pray and listen to the Word of God.
