Slippery When Wet is the third studio album by American rock band Bon Jovi, released on August 18, 1986 by Mercury Records in North America and Vertigo Records internationally. The album was produced by Bruce Fairbairn. Additionally, recording sessions took place at Little Mountain Sound Studios in Vancouver between January and July 1986. The album includes Bon Jovi's most well-known songs such as "You Give Love a Bad Name", "Wanted Dead or Alive", and "Livin' on a Prayer".
The album Slippery When Wet has been called the album that "turned heavy metal into a radio-friendly pop format" and is also commonly seen as "a breakthrough for hair metal".
Slippery When Wet was an instant commercial success upon release, spending at number 1 on the U.S. Billboard 200 chart for eight weeks, and was also named the top-selling album of 1987 by Billboard. Slippery When Wet has sold more than 25 million copies worldwide and is currently considered the 45th best-selling album worldwide. The album became one of the top 100 best-selling albums in the United States, being certified 12x Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). Additionally, Slippery When Wet became Bon Jovi's best-selling album to date.

There are great songs on the Slippery When Wet album, the songs I listen to the most on this album are "You Give Love a Bad Name", "Wanted Dead or Alive", and "Livin' on a Prayer". I think these three songs are Bon Jovi's best songs.
