The Village Marina, Watkins Glen, New York. Marinas always provide good photography opportunities.
This marina is on Seneca Lake which is the largest of the Finger Lakes in New York. The lakes were formed by glaciers during the ice age.
Seneca Lake is the second largest of the Finger Lakes at 43,343 acreas and 38 miles long.
There is a mix of sail boats and motor craft in the marina.
My favorite photo.
A couple of ducks were cruising the marina. Given the generally poor water quality, I suspect they were looking for hand outs. If so, I disappointed them.
A board walk extended for the length of the marina. The hills around the lakes are full of small wineries. Upstate New York has a pretty big area of vineyards and wineries. We didn't visit any on this trip but did stop in Watkins Glen for lunch at a passable Mexican restaurant. Its a nice area and worth getting off the interstate and checking out.
