Sunsets from the hottest place of Earth

Death Valley is a place where the highest temperature on Earth was ever recorded - 56.7°C (134.1°F). However during winter it is a very pleasant place to visit. This shot is from a Christmas Day sunset a few years ago. Looking forward to visiting again this spring for some Milky Way photography!

These colorful clay and mudstone badlands can be seen from Zabriskie Point in the park.

Sunset at the lowest point in North America (282 feet/85 meters below sea level). These salt flats form fascinating patterns and the hexagon in the front lined up nicely with the setting sun and mountains in the distance. I may have spent a few hours looking for my favorite hexagon 😛.
