Autumn In All Colors

After yesterday's architecture adventure, today I'm back with what nature has to offer these days. I'm in a hurry to capture what I can as I have a feeling that it's not going to last for long this year. Every year is different as there's no way you can create two identical years, not even mother nature is capable of that. However, this early cold is not usual and has consequences.

I've been hoping to take more chestnut photos, so I went to the place where I was hoping I can get some.

I was able to take a few shots, but unfortunately the pods are turning brown already and those on the ground are already dry.

This may be nice, but it is not what I was hoping for, so I'm planning to go to the park in the weekend, where there are many chestnut trees and maybe I'll have more luck capturing the scene I have in mind.

On my way home I spotted this tree, which is not new, but have never known it's so beautiful during autumn.

Having so many colors in one place is nice.

While I was taking these photos, I heard a familiar noise and was hoping to capture what was coming in camera.

Can you see what I am talking about?

How about now?

Then I saw this red tree, which is gorgeous in my opinion, but not matter what angle I tried, none of them were good. So this is the best I could do.

Finally, it's time to show you my lovely flower. The truth is, I have no idea what it is called. We call it ice flower, but most likely that's not its name as nothing similar comes up when searching. I have posted about it in the previous years but can't find the post as I have no idea when it was.

The beauty of this flower is that it's green all year long, then around September or October, it starts to turn pink and that's when it starts flowering as well.

These are the buds and these are macro photos, so the normal size of these flowers are around 2 - 3 cm at this stage.

I finally ran a photo search and this is what I found out.

Hylotelephium spectabile (syn. Sedum spectabile) is a species of flowering plant in the stonecrop family Crassulaceae, native to China and Korea. Its common names include showy stonecrop, iceplant, and butterfly stonecrop. source

So it turns out the ice flower name is not far from the truth as it's called iceplant.

The flower is made of tiny little flowers and it is pink and beautiful.

It still needs two weeks I believe to open, so maybe I'll be back to show it to you.

Ivy can't be missing from this post as there's a need for some colors at the end. It's not so beautiful because drought has its effect on every plant and the ivy is dry as well. Otherwise it would be gorgeous.
