Ready and Compact, sort of...

When it comes to travelling, there are two categories of things I pack. One for hygiene and clothing, and the other for my electronics and some other essentials. Depending on where I am going and how long I will be away, I may need more than one bag.

You see, being resourceful and self-sufficient is how I like to live, as well as travel. I never like to lack what's necessary for my living, productivity, convenience, and independence. So ever since the time I spent in the boarding house of a military school, I have learned to own all that I regularly need. And "what I need" is usually all I live with. I am so not a fan of excess and like to keep things compact and simple yet sophisticated.

Fitting what I need in a backpack, however, is a very challenging thought to process for me. So right off the bat, my response to the community's prompt—if I can love out of a backpack for a year—is that it could be possible if the backpack can fit a bear.

My everyday hygiene is very simple and basic, though. Two seconds, and I'm in and out of the shower. Not really, actually. Just my toothbrush and paste, bath soap and sponge, my trusty white towel, and a bottle of disinfectant. And body care products. That's pretty much it. Oh, and my hair clipper, too—that I finally own one of now, and I'll talk about how cool it is soon. Man's got to look sharp by the day. You know what I mean.

I'm not a dresser, per se. Or yet, as that's not much of a priority now. But I usually keep things simple and "for the occasion." Considering a long time. If I won't attend any event, one or two pairs of trousers and three shirts are sufficient. And shoes—well, my suede slides and perhaps just one pair of sneakers would do.

Most of my activities are digital. So my laptop and phone are always with me. Electricity is a struggle here, however, and so I own a power bank that is always with me, and they have cables and charging bricks, consequently requiring me to take along with me an extension box to plug them all.

Other essentials would be a few things like my wallet, my notepad, some miscellaneous yet important things, and then some tech gadgets like a gimbal and a tripod stand.

I would definitely love to take videos and photographs while out and travelling, and so the gimbal is basically for image stabilisation.

Now that I think about it, all these may very well fit in one backpack. It doesn't have to fit a bear, but it has to be big enough to give room to more things I may own along the line.
