My Actifit RC: July 23rd 23 - Evening trip in the center of a Naples besieged by heat - IAAC 412

A dear greeting to all lovers of physical activities that populate the mythical community of Actifit.

The return home makes me find a blue day of warm beautiful weather with record humidity peaks for the month of August. The temperatures do not go beyond 32, but the humidity is close to the record value for the first afternoon of 70%.

When I arrived at Via Toledo I was greeted by the colours of the Carafa palaces with their beautiful neo-classical shapes. One of the many valuable architectural works that make up the street named after the capable and austere Spanish viceroy, a wise architect of the city’s renewal.

Following the advice of a German politician visiting the capital of Campania, I took shelter, to seek refreshment, in the church of San Nicola alla Carità. It’s 8:30 and it’s still open so I don’t know where I’ve ever seen the churches in Naples closed.

I noticed, that despite the shelter, that anyway the feeling of humidity and discomfort for the strong heat was strong but soon my attention was attracted by this wonderful holy water in polychromatic marble and masterfully carved to welcome the faithful and make them feel immediately in a place of worship very inspired.

In the chapel on the right there is a work of great artistic value the Trinity of Nicola Maria Rossi canvas dating probably to the late 1600 beginning 1700. Here Christ, God and the Holy Spirit are depicted. Of remarkable inspiration is the drawing of the angel embracing the cross on the bottom left.

During the day I walked a lot so tonight I insist on visiting this wonderful church.

Next to the painting that I showed earlier is the body of a priest particularly attentive to the educational needs of the peasant population, the priest Carlo Carafa.

The altar of the church is surmounted by the representation of the transit of Saint Nicholas to Charity. Certainly with all these beautiful works of art present in every where you understand why the Neapolitans are endowed with incredible imagination and sagacity.

In this place of worship I was particularly impressed by the look of this statue whose sculptor was very adept at impressing reality in the face of the subject.

The recent works of recent years have given a magnificent bright color to the beautiful works of art of great prestige in the chapels and skilfully restored with patient work.

Inside the church there were everywhere photos of how these paintings were reduced that I am bringing you in photos before the restoration and I can assure you that they were not put well.

Moreover, in the various stages of my #iamalivechallenge I showed you some works that needed renovation and then you could get an idea of what it means to abandon similar masterpieces to neglect and degradation of time.

Piazza Carità welcomes me with its magnificent colorful palace in a mix of more modern buildings and architecture with a few more centuries.

The angle at which the Moon drew my attention tonight allowed me to photograph some of the crater details on its surface.

Palazzo Della Porta is also in the midst of commercial activities that enhance its beauty in the evening giving us a very scenic photo.

Down Via Toledo I took an alley adjacent to the headquarters of the Italian commercial bank that took me to Piazza Municipio.

Behind an evergreen construction site the Maschio Angioino wore an elegant evening dress and his powerful figure is of inspiration and model to the men of the city.

Slowly the lights were turned on in front of the Neapolitan town hall that the sunset had sent in the penumbra.

The building at the center of these building elements is the Mercadante theater also dressed in the evening although today is resting but does not disdain a walk in search of a bit of another wind that can lift him from the oppressive heat of this record heat wave.

Very beautiful is also the structure of the port at the pier Beverello architecture that, the evening lights, made it more beautiful and attractive.

As time passes inexorably, the time has come to celebrate with great career the #iamalivechallenge 412 since today too we faced the heat in the best spirit #alive.

Finally, I would like to thank all my friends from the tribe of #Alive and all the new friends who happened between the lines of my stories for reading my thoughts and see you at the next #actifit report.
