When the Covid-19 pandemic still occurred throughout the world, including in our area of Aceh, where to this day 17 patients have been infected with coronavirus and 7 of them are still being treated, we also have another disaster, namely flash floods. From the beginning of Ramadan it rained every afternoon in our area so that the water flow continued to increase and caused flooding in the first week of Ramadan. After receding a few days ago. At this time floods hit our area again for the second time in this Ramadan.
The floods are on average as high as one meter and in certain areas up to two meters. So that the area becomes isolated. But we are very grateful that the local government is very swift in dealing with flood victims. A number of aid and food came and went from the government and politicians.
The floods that hit our area due to the overflow of water from the river. So that the villages around the river flow into the areas that feel the most pain due to the flood. We don't know when this flood will end, because until this night the rain continues to flush our area. So we were trapped inside the house. According to the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency, rain will continue to flush our area for the next three days, so that this flood has the potential to spread and take many casualties and losses.
According to current data, there are a number of houses in the villages around the sinking river flow and residents in those villages have fled in higher places provided by the local government. The average population cannot save household furniture and contents in other houses, so the potential loss due to this flood disaster is very large.
