The ever pleasing lifestyle in photos

Feels good to make my first post here

We have a culture, not official or forceful, but it just happens that whenever a family is organizing a party, whether it be a burial ceremony, marriage ceremony, or birthday that warrants the preparation of food, the people around that family—extended relatives, friends, and neighbors—come around to join them in the cooking. It's always a thing of joy and it's never forceful, which is why they come out en masse, taking turns doing one cooking activity or another.

In the photos above, it's a marriage ceremony in my compound, and I saw the compound filled to the brim. Relatives, friends, and neighbors came out to help the woman prepare the food to be used for her child's marriage occasion, which happened the following day. Some were pounding fermented cassava in a mortar, while others were frying meats. The little children were around to run small errands like fetching water, holding bags, picking beans, and most importantly, making the place lively with their running around, talking, and crying.

The compound is so big that even with its size, the noise made it hard to sleep or concentrate on the phone. So, I was moving around and taking photos, testing my camera with their notice. As you can see in the photos above, we connected and channeled the light in their direction to gain full brightness.

Thank you!

All photos are mine and were snapped with my Redmi phone. They were not edited
