Ice Cream Parade

This is my first post in this community, so hello ice cream fans. I'm not sure if it is the last one as well, probably it is for now, as there will be some changes in my life, but I have promised @coolmidwestguy, that I will post about ice cream and here it is.

If you're following my blog, you may know that I had one month without refined sugar starting from the middle of January. It was for health reasons and totally voluntary. After finishing my one month, my plan was to limit my refined sugar intake as much possible. This meant allowing myself some sweets here and there, but not exaggerate. So I used this period to taste some ice cream, which I mostly like during winter. Yes, I'm the weirdo again as ice cream makes me super thirsty when it's too hot.

The ice cream offer from spring to late autumn is more than magnificent, you can hardly choose, but after that, the offer is getting weaker and weaker, grocery shops for example are looking to liquidate stocks and use the space for more sought after products.

At the time of my shopping, to my surprise, there was only one box of ice cream, with wafer cone. I love wafer cone and always choose the ones with wafer cones.

Having no options, left me with this colorful box. It is called Bibi Con, which sounds pretty stupid by the way, but that's what the ice cream is called. It was strawberry flavored, with strawberry flavored topping and sprinkled with peanuts. At least that's what the text on the box said.

These were six small size ice creams inside, but not what the box promised though.

Can you see the difference? My ice cream was white, I suppose it was whipped cream flavor and the promised topping, sprinkled with peanuts. Whipped cream is not my favorite, I don't like it, don't eat it either. The ice cream wasn't bad, but wasn't great either, so I suppose next time I'm going to skip it, even if it's the only option.

My next ice cream adventure happened in a proper and luxury ice cream shop, last week. As I mentioned in one of my previous posts, I made a trip to Kolozsvár (Cluj Napoca) and even thought it was raining, we went to have an ice cream.

There's a fancy ice cream shop in the historical city center, called Moritz. It's at the corner of the main square, it's hard to miss and I think you don't have to miss it, even though it's not a cheap place.

When I'm buying ice cream from an ice cream shop, my rule is to buy two flavors and usually one is sour, fruit flavored and the other, most of the time is chocolate. This time I opted for milk chocolate, caramel, hazelnut and the yellow one on top was orange and ginger. I could not taste the whole offer, but can tell you, I don't regret my choice. I loved it, it was heavenly good and even though the price is way too high in my opinion, if I'll be in the area, I'll have another round.

We were four and I was the only one opting for wafer cone, the others opted for cups. I will never understand them, but I'm fine with their choice.

What you see here is milk chocolate, caramel and hazelnut, just like mine.

This one was a mix of flavors I'd like to try as I love fruit ice creams. What you see in the cup is blueberry, lavender, lemon and basil. Of the mentioned ingredients, blueberry and lemon are common, I like them both, but have never had lavender and basil, so that is a must. I tasted the blueberry-lavender and I'm sure I'd want more :)

This was an interesting one. One part was apple-cinnamon and the other was rice-cinnamon. I like all the ingredients and most likely this will be on my list too. But if I want to be honest, I'd live to taste the whole offer :) Can you blame me? I can't blame myself :D Most likely I won't as I'd like to stay away from sugar, but can't promise anything.

So, which one would you taste?
