Today my brothers-in-law are leaving for Germany, but in the meantime I had the chance to spend some time with them and take another walk in Tobbiana, where my mother-in-law lives. The weather was nice but a little windy, but before going to my mother-in-law's, we stopped at a bread and baked goods shop. When we go to visit someone, it's customary to bring a small gift of food or wine. We bought a few pieces of focaccia with cracklings, which are like dried pork meatballs. My brothers-in-law really like this type of focaccia, and it's not available in Germany, where they live now, so we brought some for them. Anyway, the shop had so many sweet and savory products, so many temptations, too many! The small village bakeries usually have the best, freshest, and healthiest products. We'll definitely be back when we visit my mother-in-law again. Then we continued on to Tobbiana where we went for a walk with my brothers-in-law, who love walking in the countryside. They live in a big city and when they return to Italy they love the village life and relaxing by walking in the hills, away from the chaos. Who can blame them?

Hoy mis cuñados se van a Alemania, pero mientras tanto tuve la oportunidad de pasar un rato con ellos y dar otro paseo por Tobbiana, donde vive mi suegra. Hacía buen tiempo, aunque un poco de viento, pero antes de ir a casa de mi suegra, paramos en una panadería. Cuando visitamos a alguien, es costumbre llevar un pequeño regalo de comida o vino. Compramos unas focaccias con chicharrones, que son como albóndigas de cerdo secas. A mis cuñados les encanta este tipo de focaccia, y no se consigue en Alemania, donde viven ahora, así que les trajimos un poco. En fin, la tienda tenía tantos productos dulces y salados, ¡tantas tentaciones, demasiadas! Las panaderías de los pueblos pequeños suelen tener los mejores, más frescos y más sanos productos. Sin duda volveremos cuando visitemos a mi suegra de nuevo. Luego continuamos hacia Tobbiana, donde dimos un paseo con mis cuñados, a quienes les encanta caminar por el campo. Viven en una gran ciudad y, cuando regresan a Italia, disfrutan de la vida rural y de relajarse paseando por las colinas, lejos del bullicio. ¿Quién puede culparlos?
As you can see, during the walk I took the opportunity to photograph some views, not only the view of the surrounding mountains, which never fails to excite me—I love mountain panoramas—but also the glimpses and charming little corners of the town, which is truly a small Tuscan village and very charming, especially for those visiting from outside. Then, of course, we had lunch—food is always a must at Italian gatherings. We ate a classic pasta with tomato sauce, made with my mother-in-law's homemade tomato sauce, which is phenomenal. I don't know why, but everything my mother-in-law cooks, even the simplest, is always delicious. Overall, it was a beautiful day. I'm sad we won't see my brothers-in-law for another year. At least we hope to make some money and be able to visit them in Germany or Croatia, where my sister-in-law is from.
Como pueden ver, durante el paseo aproveché para fotografiar algunas vistas, no solo las de las montañas circundantes, que siempre me emocionan (me encantan los panoramas de montaña), sino también los rincones encantadores del pueblo, que es un auténtico pueblecito toscano, muy pintoresco, sobre todo para quienes lo visitan. Después, por supuesto, almorzamos; la comida siempre es imprescindible en las reuniones italianas. Comimos una pasta clásica con salsa de tomate, hecha con la salsa casera de mi suegra, que es fenomenal. No sé por qué, pero todo lo que cocina mi suegra, incluso lo más sencillo, siempre está delicioso. En resumen, fue un día precioso. Me da pena que no vayamos a ver a mis cuñados hasta dentro de un año. Al menos esperamos ganar algo de dinero y poder visitarlos en Alemania o Croacia, de donde es mi cuñada.
