El año pasado, en el mes de septiembre inicié con el proyecto de servicio comunitario, requisito indispensable para avanzar en mi carrera.
Según los reglamentos de la institución queda a nuestro criterio realizarlo de forma grupal o individual, en mi caso decidí hacerlo en grupo junto a 4 compañeros de clases, más adelante se darán cuenta por qué.

I want to share with you an achievement that fills me with excitement and enthusiasm.
Last year, in September, I started my community service project, an indispensable requirement to advance in my career.
According to the regulations of the institution it is at our discretion to do it as a group or individually, in my case I decided to do it as a group with 4 classmates, later you will see why.

Les recuerdo, que mi carrera universitaria es Fisioterapia. La fisioterapia es una ciencia de los movimientos, donde estudia y trabaja el cuerpo humano, sistema óseo, musculatura y todo lo que eso conlleva, la idea es realizar el trabajo comunitario con algo que tuviera relación y nos pareció que era ideal realizarlo en un equipo deportivo y cerca de nuestros hogares está una escuela de béisbol menor. Y todo el grupo nos sentimos muy identificados porque nos encanta la rama de la Fisioterapia Deportiva; hicimos las gestiones necesarias entre el instituto y la academia "Marineros", dónde nos aprobaron nuestra participación con los atletas🙌🏼.
Éste tipo de proyecto es ventajoso hacerlo en grupo porque el trabajo es extenso y en equipo se alivian las cargas.
I remind you that my university degree is Physiotherapy. Physiotherapy is a science of movement, where it studies and works the human body, bone system, musculature and all that entails, the idea is to perform community work with something that was related and we thought it was ideal to do it in a sports team and near our homes is a minor baseball school. And the whole group felt very identified because we love the branch of Sports Physiotherapy; we made the necessary arrangements between the institute and the academy "Mariners", where they approved our participation with the athletes🙌🏼.
This type of project is advantageous to do it as a group because the work is extensive and as a team it eases the burdens.

En Venezuela, el trabajo comunitario consiste en cumplir una cantidad de horas, que en mi institución son 120hr requeridas durante las cuales debemos planificar un plan de acción dependiendo de las fallas que observemos en los jóvenes con los que vamos a trabajar.
En ésta oportunidad nos enfocarnos con los chicos del béisbol en la prevención de las lesiones musculoesqueléticas ya que, cuando visitamos a los jóvenes en el estadio para realizar nuestra respectiva revisión, notamos que existían fallas en el acondicionamiento físico de los atletas por lo cual se tomó la iniciativa de llevar a cabo una complementación deportiva, e incluso hacer unas sesiones educativas sobre los posibles motivos de lesiones.
In Venezuela, community work consists of completing a certain number of hours, which in my institution is 120 hours, during which we must plan an action plan depending on the faults we observe in the young people with whom we are going to work.
In this opportunity we focused with the baseball kids on the prevention of musculoskeletal injuries since, when we visited the young people in the stadium to perform our respective review, we noticed that there were failures in the physical conditioning of athletes so we took the initiative to carry out a sports supplementation, and even make some educational sessions on the possible reasons for injuries.

Estas planillas deben ser avaladas por el director de la academia. En ellas se debían registrar diariamente cada actividad que se realizaba, con sus respectivas horas y fechas.
These spreadsheets must be endorsed by the academy director. In them, each activity that was carried out had to be recorded daily, with their respective times and dates.
Todos sabemos que trabajar en equipo no es fácil porque, a pesar de que estudiamos lo mismo y nuestras edades son contemporáneas, no todos tenemos las mismas actitudes, ni las mismas opiniones, ni el mismo compromiso, eso genera desacuerdo y en ocasiones se hizo engorroso llegar a ciertos acuerdos pero nuestro entusiasmo en lograr finalizar con éxito lo que ya habíamos comenzado, nos ayudó a superar las diferencias y nuestro equipo logró acoplarse de una manera que no se imaginan🤩.
Cuando se cumplen las horas y logras los objetivos del trabajo comunitario, debemos realizar un informe para defender la labor realizada. Éste informe debemos presentarlo ante un grupo de profesores capacitados como jurados.
Nuestro equipo al no llevarse bien al principio trajo como consecuencia que nos tardaramos un poco más de lo debido (por lo general, se debe realizar ese trabajo en 3 meses aproximadamente); Sin embargo, la supervisora de que se cumpliera todo al pie de la letra se nos ofreció a ayudarnos con el informe que debíamos presentar, nosotros le hicimos llegar el material y ella nos "ayudaría" a organizar el informe final y éste "ayudaría" se convirtió en qué la señora nos pidió dinero para realizarnos el trabajo porque ya estabamos muy cortos de tiempo, nos sentimos presionados y acorralados ante su imposición porque ya ella tenía todos nuestros documentos. En definitiva, tuvimos que aceptar e hicimos hasta lo imposible para pagarle a la profesora.
We all know that working as a team is not easy because, although we studied the same thing and our ages are contemporary, we do not all have the same attitudes, nor the same opinions, nor the same commitment, that generates disagreement and sometimes it became cumbersome to reach certain agreements but our enthusiasm to successfully complete what we had already started, helped us to overcome the differences and our team managed to couple in a way that you can not imagine🤩.
When the hours are completed and the objectives of the community work are achieved, we must write a report to defend the work done. This report must be presented to a group of teachers trained as jurors.
Our team did not get along well at the beginning, which caused us to take a little longer than we should have (in general, this work should be done in approximately 3 months); However, the supervisor, who made sure that everything was done to the letter, offered to help us with the report that we had to present, we sent her the material and she would "help" us to organize the final report and this "help" became that the lady asked us for money to do the work because we were already very short of time, we felt pressured and cornered by her imposition because she already had all our documents. In the end, we had to accept and we did the impossible to pay the teacher.
De verdad, nosotros estábamos confiados porque como es la supervisora y es profesora, jamás se nos ocurrió que algo podía salir mal pero resulta que al momento de ella enviarnos el trabajo, todo estaba malo. Informe, diapositivas y cd de presentación pues lo hizo a su manera y con información que no fue suministrada por nosotros.
Así que, en vista de ese desastre tuvimos que ponernos los patines y correr para armarlo todo nuevamente y nosotros mismos. En menos de 1 semana teníamos todo listo, afortunadamente y gracias a Dios un día antes de la defensa, lo logramos 🎊🎊🙏🏼👏🏼. Estaba con muchos sentimientos encontrados, súper nerviosa y feliz a la vez porque logramos terminar el trabajo a tiempo y en ese momento me dediqué a estudiar, porque yo era la que comenzaba la defensa.
El día 19 a las 12 del medio dia nos fue aprobado nuestro servicio comunitario. Tuvimos ciertos percances en la defensa gracias a los nervios jaja pero todo salió afortunadamente bien🙏🏼.
Para concluir éste post quiero decirles que al momento de proponernos una meta, lo importante es siempre tenerla presente y eso nos va a ayudar a superar los obstáculos que se nos atraviesen en el camino.
Me siento muy feliz y entusiasmada de culminar éste trabajo comunitario ya que me falta muy poco para alcanzar mi meta que es la Licenciatura.
Really, we were confident because as she is the supervisor and she is a teacher, it never occurred to us that something could go wrong but it turns out that when she sent us the work, everything was wrong. Report, slides and presentation CD, she did it in her own way and with information that was not provided by us.
So, in view of that mess we had to put on our skates and run to put it all together again and ourselves. In less than 1 week we had everything ready, fortunately and thank God one day before the defense, we made it 🎊🎊🙏🏼👏🏼. I was with many mixed feelings, super nervous and happy at the same time because we managed to finish the work on time and at that moment I dedicated myself to study, because I was the one who started the defense.
On the 19th at 12 noon we were approved for our community service. We had some mishaps in the defense thanks to nerves haha but everything went fortunately bien🙏🏼.
To conclude this post I want to tell you that when we set a goal, the important thing is to always keep it in mind and that will help us to overcome the obstacles that come our way.
I feel very happy and excited to finish this community work since I am very close to reach my goal, which is a Bachelor's Degree.
Luego de pasar el susto del siglo, defender y aprobar, decidimos salir a festejar y celebrar el nuevo logro que obtuvimos. Ya les muestro 🤩.

Part of the obstacles we faced was the difference of opinions among the team members, however, we managed to overcome that as well.
Uno de los obstáculos vencidos fue el reforzarnos cómo equipo y empezar una bonita amistad 👩🏻🤝👩🏼👩🏻🤝👩🏼🤍.
