How to get higher rewards and votes. As many of you know, we recently were added to the OCD Community Incubation program. This has also attracted more attention from other curation groups as well. I hope you've noticed the higher votes and rewards for our Drone Community posts.
I do monitor the group at least a couple times a day, and provide upvotes as well as submitting nominations for the larger OCDB rewards. These aren't always accepted by the OCD curation team, but we have seen more of them.
First off let me say that any posts that follow the rules are always welcome (and appreciated!) in this group, and if you just like to take a single pic or video and post it with a short sentence, that is certainly your choice and always very welcome.
I had one of the curators reach out with some suggestions that we could get more rewards and higher rewards by the curators. Here's some of them for consideration (again, not required):
- Increasing the length of their text in posts. We always seem to have some wonderful sometimes professional level photography, but often just short blurb. The curators seem to prefer posts with some additional description, history of the area, background data, your mood that day or whatever else seems to bump it up to 200 words or even a little more. This also will drive more comments and questions for additional engagement.
- Multiple pictures or combo of pictures and video along with the text. I've heard from several of them that they will seldom curate single picture posts, even if professional quality.
- Engage with others - Help drive engagement by commenting on others posts and voting others in the group. Engagement by commenting on others is the best way to amass followers, and to provide a friendly place for others to visit and invite others to.
- Invite others. If you see others posting drone pics in other communities, invite them to join our group!
- There are limits. Our group is fairly small compared to others. We have a few people that post regularly, but many of the curation groups (including OCD) will only upvote the same author so many times in a month, even if nominated. Don't let that discourage you from posting though, there are numerous other curation groups out there, and often one of the others will pick up on the post.

- No rudeness, everyone is entitled to an opinion and respectful debate of various perspectives is welcome and interesting, but be respectful.
- Abusers will be muted and free to join other communities.
- Cross-Posted to the group not eligible for contests and rewards.
