I had completely forgotten about this mural made during the last Mural Festival by Mando Marie. Because it's located on a parking always very busy on Saint-Laurent boulevard in Montreal, near bars and restaurants. But one day while coming back from work, a miracle happens: no car, only 4 small orange blocks... almost perfect 😀.

J'avais complètement oublié cette murale faite lors du dernier Mural Festival par Mando Marie. Car elle se situe sur un parking toujours très occupé sur le boulevard Saint-Laurent à Montréal, près des bars et restaurants. Mais un jour en rentrant du travail, un miracle se produit : aucune voiture seulement 4 petits plots orange... un moindre mal 😀.

Il y a quand même quelqu'un qui est arrivé à tagguer l'œuvre tout en haut. Ce n'était pas le plus simple.

On the parking of Saint-Laurent boulevard in Montreal which used to be the central place of the Mural Festival with concerts and the main murals, especially on the walls behind (picture below with a lot of cars...).

Mando Marie is an American artist and illustrator based in Amsterdam. She studied art at Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design (RMCAD) in Colorado. She often exhibits in galleries, like a few years ago in Montreal at Galerie Station 16. Her universe at first glance is quite nostalgic, often representing a little girl, but on closer inspection there are always darker elements such as skeletons and ghosts. This is reflected in the name of her website See You Through It. His work is very recognizable especially thanks to the use of stencils.

Mando Marie est une artiste et illustratrice américaine basée à Amsterdam. Elle a étudié l'art à Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design (RMCAD) dans le Colorado. Elle expose souvent en galerie, comme il y a quelques années à Montréal avec la Galerie Station 16. Son univers au premier abord est assez nostalgique représentant souvent une petite fille mais en regardant de plus près il y a toujours des éléments plus noir comme des squelettes, des fantômes. Cela se retrouve dans le nom de son site web See You Through It. Son travail est très reconnaissable surtout grâce à l'utilisation de pochoirs.
