STREET ART #118 - Armand Gachet in Port Louis, Mauritius

When I was in Port Louis last week I found this beautiful portrait of a child. I didn't actually expect to find any new murals since last time I was here. Port Louis has a complex by the habour called Le Gaudan Waterfront. Here you will find shops, restaurants, banking, casino, souvenirs and a hotel. I usually only walk through the center to look into the shops. This time I went behind to the part that contains flats Thats when I noticed the painting of the child.

The artist is Armand Gachet. On Facebook he writes about himself, that he has studiet graphic design and works as a freelance designer. He is living in Mautitius and I actually have thought he was born in Mauritius, but I see that he writes he is from Westville, Kwazulu-Natal in South Africa.

He has done other works in Port Louis. He painted «The Astronaut» in 2016. I took the photo in 2017. It's allready been repainted, He has also done the girl with the flute in Chinatown. A beautiful 10 meter long mural was painted in 2017. I have allready posted photos of her several times, but it's one of my favourites in Port Louis. Each time I am here, I allways check if she is still here. She still is.
