A healthy and yummy Seasame Brittle (Til ki Chikki) consumed specially during winters!

Hello hiveans!

During winter Seasame is consumed lot in India. In some house it is used even in some dishes but in my house my mother used to make Till ke laddu or Till ki Chikki. Every years specially in the festival of Makara Sakaranti(Kite flying Festival )my Mother makes Till ki Chikki.

In India usually people prepared this dish during the celebration of Makara Sakaranti. It is said that this provides warmth to the body during winters. 14 th of january was celebrated as Makar Sakaranti. But this year is a leap year so it was celebrated on 15th january.

I made Till ki chikki at home and it was delicious and healthy.
Chikki is a sweet recipe of Jaggery and seasame seeds. In this recipe we only needs 2 items and can be prepared within 20 mins.

So lets start to make Till ki chikki-

INGREDIENTS

½cup seasame seeds
½cup Jaggery
1tbspn coconut oil.

METHOD

1.In a pan dry roast the seasme seeds.

2.Roast it for 4 to 5 mins in low flame. When they are lightly chnaged in color off the flame. Donot burn it else it will not taste good.

3.transfer the roasted seasame seeds into a bowl.

4.now in a kadhai add coconut oil

5.crushed the Jaggery if it is too big. You can use Jaggery powder also.

6.now add Jaggery in the coconut oil

7.and melt it.

8.once Jaggery is melted and become darker in color then in a bowl of water drop a small amount of Jaggery. If the Jaggery sinks and forms a hard ball shape and try to break it. When it breaks and crunch sound will come ot means the consistency is perfect.

9.now add roasted seasame seeds and little a pinch of baking powder.

10.mix it well until seasame seeds are coated in Jaggery. Off the flame.

11.now place this mixture in a butter paper.

12.put one more butter paper on top and starts to roll it with rolling pin.

13.roll it till it become thinner.
You have to do this very fast because it start to harden and it will be very difficult to roll and give a shape.

14.now remove the butter paper and place it in a plate.

15.now cut the chikki into a piece while it is still warm.

16.finally the seasame Chikki is ready !

Once it cools completely you can store it in a air tight container and can munch it at any time. It will last for a month if it is in air tight container.

This winter try this Super healthy till ki chikki recipe and enjoy with your family as we do.

I hope you will like this Til ki chikki.
