Well, this isn't a post about Japanese cuisines. This is about a cat, yes, nekochan.
When I was learning Nihongo, I started calling our cats (and dog) in fish names, full story in my Cats in Heaven and on Earth post.
When Unagi the Cat gave birth, we were surprised to have another golden cat, similar to Unagi's mom, Sakana.
I decided to call him, Shiozake (Kanji: 塩鮭
Hira: しおざけ
En: Salted Salmon), since he was like salmon in color. See salmon recipe by clicking the image below.
Well, at least to my imagination, hahaha! I fond golden cats and we had only three of them since we adopted our first cat: Miming Orange, Sakana, and Shio. Unagi's brother, Maguro has golden patches, but is mostly white in color.
Other Cats
We do love all of our cats, but we have our preferences in appearance. Mama likes white cats, she asked for Shitsuke from her friend and she was fond with Peachu too.
My younger sister already has four cats now, all with white and patches of gray: Mim, Helen, Nemnem, and Mingpol.
