In The Ink Well we don’t support stories that lean on other stories for inspiration. Your story does not capture the “fight” between nature and human being that the original is famous for. Perhaps you should read the original “Old Man and the Sea” to get a better understanding of including conflict and resolution in your stories; short stories should always have this tenet at heart.
