ā€œThereā€™s no cause for alarm! Will you just sit down and stop fretting?!ā€ At this point, Kingsley was so mad that he couldnā€™t hold back his anger any longer. Even though his sympathy would have done Paulina more good because thatā€™s what she needs at the moment, he couldnā€™t just imagine how crazy she had been the past few days. ā€œCanā€™t you just try to understand how I feel?ā€ Paulina replied amidst sobbing. Like an enraged pet suddenly calmed at the sight of its owner, Kingsley became powerless. He hugged his sister and muttered in her ears, ā€œall will be well, okay?ā€

Paulinaā€™s husband is a big-time businessman. He travels from state to state, and sometimes he moves between countries to buy and sell. Christopher, Paulinaā€™s husband, is very fond of his wife, but due to the nature of his business, he canā€™t always be with her. They most often spend hours talking over the phone, and this keeps Paulina calm until the husband gets back from his journey. ā€œI need you home at the latest by Friday. There is something I want us to try together.ā€ Paulina always has a way to make Christopher look forward to surprises. ā€œAinā€™t that why you are my darling? Always having something special for me?ā€

Christopher initially fell in love with Paulina for her limitless initiative to always spice things up. This has always been his secret prayer because he had very funny experiences in his past relationships. His exes got bored easily. Since the day he met Paulina, he knew his prayer had been answered and only had to work on his compliments. Paulina will always handle the spice!

ā€œHow can he leave for close to a week and not get back to you?ā€ Kingsley questioned Paulina, showing his irritation. Like a loyal servant, even in his masterā€™s absence, ā€œhe has never, ever done that. Maximum of 3 days, and heā€™ll call me. I have never had to wait more than that,ā€ Paulina replied. ā€œI hope it is not what I am thinking,ā€ Kingsley said, looking away from Paulina. This is like salt on Paulinaā€™s wound.

ā€œShut your mouth and donā€™t dare say that to my husband!ā€ she screamed at Kinglsey, who could only look away after realizing his mistake. ā€œBut I am not wrong; this is what men do once they are in the arms of another woman. I know what we do; whatā€™s wrong with my sister?ā€, Kingsley thought to himself. He knew he had to apologize, or else this wounded lion would soon start attacking him. ā€œI am so sorry; I didnā€™t mean it that way, dear.ā€ Paulina looked at him, shaking her head in disappointment, ā€œyou think all men are like you, right?ā€ Kingsley could only shrug his shoulders; he knew he was going to get more of those abusive words, just as he had earlier expected.

It had already been a week and two days since Christopher left the house, and there was no sign of him, nor was his phone line going through. Paulina was already distorted and looking a bit unkempt by the end of the week. ā€œHow could Christopher not put a call through to her? Could it be that Kingsley was right?ā€ As these thoughts crossed her mind, she quickly went to her phone to check if she had missed any calls. Just as she checked and confirmed her disappointment, as there was no call from Christopher, she heard a knock on her door.

Kingsley had left her to attend to his own work, and he was to return later in the day. Paulina was a bit scared, as she wasnā€™t expecting a visitor. But she garnered courage and went to check who it was. As she opened the door, assessing the person from toe to head, she was shocked at how tattered the individual looked but was more stunned at the familiar outfits. ā€œItā€™s me; I got robbed!ā€ Paulina immediately recognized the voice of her husband, and she couldnā€™t believe her ears. She hugged him and shed tears of joy!
