Juliet jumped up happily from her bed after she got a letter of resumption in a very big workplace where she has always wished to work. She rejoiced for about five minutes after remembering that there’s a problem. The problem was that she needed a place to stay till she rents an apartment in her work vicinity but she remembered that her only aunt lives very close to her new workplace. This aunt is her mum’s little sister named Natasha. Juliet calls her Aunt Natty.
Juliet and Aunt Natty are good friends so getting along with each other was not difficult.
On getting there, life was different. The way they do their things and all is totally different from how things are done in her home and that’s quite normal. Aunt Natty lived in a flatlet with her husband and two kids. The apartment was barely enough for Aunt Natty and her family but she needed to help Juliet. Juliet began to live with them the third day after she informed her aunt about her new job.

On the first day of getting there, Juliet noticed something but felt it just happened that night until it kept on reoccurring.
She noticed that Aunt Natty and her husband don’t talk in the house nor portray any form of communication. They don’t even say any word to each other. Aunt Natty and the kids sleep in the only bedroom while her husband sleeps in the living room and when Juliet got to the house, she joined them in the bedroom too.
Also, Juliet noticed that whenever she talks about Aunt Natty’s hubby, she gets annoyed and may hurl abusive words at him. This made Juliet feel that her aunt is problematic and too wicked because the husband acts all nice to her, greets her when he gets back from work and talks in a calm manner.
“What could have made my aunt treat a very calm husband like this,? Juliet said to herself as she continued to make a close observation to what’s going on in her aunt’s house and still wonders why her aunt cooks for the hubby every night even though he doesn’t like him anymore.
Things felt complicated and Juliet decided to ask her aunt a few things about what’s going on in her home. It was in a Sunday afternoon after they finished all their home chores and Aunt Natty’s kids were out of the house.
Juliet made sure she raised the conversation when the kids were not there so that they won’t feel bad to hear the things their mother may say about their father.
“Hey aunty, please, I’d like to talk to you about something. I know it’s not my business but I just feel…,” Juliet said then Aunt Natty tried to cut her short.
“I know. I know what you’re about to say. I’ve seen you watch closely my relationship with my hubby and think I’m the problem because of how I treat him, right? Would you believe me if I tell you that I’m not the problem of this marriage?,” Aunt Natty asked Juliet.
“Well, Aunt, I feel you’re the problem but since you ain’t the problem, maybe you should tell me what’s going on so I can see how I can come in,” Juliet responded to her Aunt knowing fully well that there is no way she can come into that matter.
“Juliet, a man is supposed to cater to the responsibilities of his family, right? My man doesn’t do that for me. He goes to work, comes back to the house and won’t give us the littlest money in this world,” these words said by Aunt Natty was already making her eyes teary.

“Hmm,” Juliet breathed deeply while Aunt Natty continued with her story.
“I pay the house rent, pay for light, pay the children’s school fees, cook for the house and still cook for him as you can see every night even though I don’t talk to him. I do literally everything the man in a house should do so why do you think I should be in good terms with such person? He gives me an unfair treatment all the time and the only thing he does with his money is give it to his girlfriends while neglecting his family,” Aunt Natty burst into tears because she could not control herself. Juliet tries to pet her so she could stop crying.
Juliet believed all her aunt said but on the next day, she began to make her little findings and tried to monitor Aunt Natty’s husband and truly realized that he goes to clubs, spends lavishly on his girlfriends and come home to act like he didn’t make a dime on that day. That was when Juliet realized that things are not always what they seem.
