Love Quest, the biggest reality TV show, was fast approaching, and Nelly and her friend, Chinelo, have not finalized plans on how to watch the show because they don't have a TV in their house and streaming the event on their phones would cost a fortune.
They were returning from lectures on a Thursday afternoon when Nelly screamed so loudly out of excitement. Chinelo was shocked and thought maybe Nelly just received a credit alert, but no,
"Wait! wait! wait! What's making you excited this way?" She asked Nelly as she turned to see Nelly still glued to her phone on the spot where she was standing.
"Babe, guess what? Austin just posted on his WhatsApp status that he'd be streaming the reality show in his house and neighbors are free to come by with their friends," Nelly said with a smile on her face.
"You mean Austin, the Yahoo guy that lives next compound?" Chinelo asked her, expecting a confirmation for an answer.
"Yeah, that's him. We'd go together this evening to watch the show in his house; I've already dropped a comment on his post," Nelly said.
"For sure, we die there" Chinelo replied with excitement.
What a relief for them as they trekked home excitedly. Immediately after they got home, they uploaded their status in the various social media handles, anticipating for 7:00 p.m, the kick off time for the show.
"As much as I'm dying to watch this show, I'm skeptical about going to Austin's house; he's a fraudster, for God's sake, and you know what such a person is capable of doing" Chinelo said to Nelly.
"You're very funny, so you think he's going to use us for rituals once we get to his house? What a low IQ you've got there" Nelly laughed at Chinelo beliefs.
The time was 6:55 p.m. when they dressed up in simple clothes and headed to Austin's house, but on getting there, they met series of cars parked both outside and inside the compound, which was unusual. At that moment, they knew that something was not right, but they decided to continue their way to the Austins' house.
They got to the main door and were just about to knock when a guy surprisingly opened the door to enter, and the ooze of the smoke coming out of the house immediately discouraged them from entering.
"Don't worry, just tell Austin we'll come tomorrow to watch the show, not today anymore," Chinelo said as she dragged Nelly away.
"So if I had left you, you would have entered that house with such smoke oozing out from the room? Do you know how many guys in there and what they're doing?" Chinelo questioned Nelly as they were walking and running just to catch up with the show in any possible venue they could stumble on.
"Let's forget about that and head to Mr. Wilson's shop. Since there's electricity, he'll be showing it in his shop" Nelly said as she was checking the time on her phone to see that 30 minutes were already gone from the show, "jeeeez!" She lamented.
Not quite long after they arrived, they met people seated at Mr. Wilson's shop enjoying the show with bottles of drinks on the tables.
"We should have come here earlier," Nelly said as she got relief because finally they'd seen a place to watch the show.
She sighted an empty table, so they went to sit there as they ordered two bottles of Smirnoff Ice, because it's required that anyone who wants to be freely entertained by the show be willing to patronize the shop owner.

As they were enjoying the show, sipping their drinks and shouting when necessary, suddenly the light went off.
"Ooooooh!" Everyone shouted in anger and disappointment at the electricity company.
Mr. Wilson stood up and pleaded with them that he wouldn't put on the generator because it has fault. He didn't finish his words when people stood up and began to leave in anger.
Nelly and Chinelo were not left out; they stood up, came out to the road with confusion over where to go to complete the Love Quest Reality show.
Then a guy walked up to them and said, "If you don't mind, I have a friend's place where we could all go and watch the show; the only problem is distance; it's not trekable, but we could take a bike."
It sounded like a miracle to Nelly, and she quickly agreed for both of them.
They boarded bikes and moved straight to the place.
They got there, rushed in as if they were familiar with the house already, felt at home, and finally watched till the end of the first episode.
When they checked the time, it was already 9:00 p.m. and kind of late to go back home. The owner of the house suggested that they pass the night there, but Chinelo quickly disagreed, so they headed out and took a bike.
On their way home, they got stopped by the police at the checkpoint; they asked where they were coming from, and they replied. One of the policemen stretched out his hands to get a tip from the bikeman to make way for him, but the bikeman refused, saying that he hasn't done anything wrong to bribe them.
That's where the problem started, the policemen demanded for his particulars which was not with him at that moment. They seized his bike's key and told the two ladies to leave.
They couldn't just leave; rather, they began to beg on behalf of the bikeman, to which the policeman gave a deaf ear and insisted that he must bail himself out with a sum of $25. The bikeman wasn't ready to give in to their demands; he was ready to battle with them until they released him free of charge, hence he begged the two ladies to leave and let him fight his battle.
They had no option but to leave because it's already late. Their house wasn't far, and there was no bike passing, so they decided to trek it home.
"Omo! Look at the level of stress we are passing through today because of this Tv show," Chinelo said on a tired tone.
"Come on, girl, even in the midst of these problems, we enjoyed ourselves, or didn't you?" Nelly replied to her.
As soon as they were about to enter their compound, two hefty dogs backed up and rushed them, but luckily, they were fast enough to enter the compound and jam the gate against the dog.
"OMG! That was near, Nelly said as she was panting deeply.
They entered their house, jumped on bed and slept off straight.
