What do you want to become in future?
That question has been asked several times during primary school days.
James stood perplexed with surprise written on his face as children of his age responded to that question asked by their teacher.
Pupil 1.
“I want to be a doctor so that I can treat injured people.”
Pupil 2
“I want to be Lawyer so that I can defend the innocent and also punish criminals.”
Pupil 3
“I want to be a soldier so that I can ensure security.”
James!!!
His face turned swiftly from watching his classmates make declarations of how they want their future to look like.
He looked at his teacher who shouted his name, his face could show how fast his heart beats, a drip from his face as sweat generates from his skin, his mouth was already shaking even before the question could come.
What will you like to be in future? He looked at his teacher confused even though he was still a kid. He just wants to go to school and become whatever that comes out as the result of his schooling.
On several occasions he heard it said that education is the key to success so, this is the only means to success as far as James is concerned.
Whatever the future holds he knows will definitely come through this means for him.
Then, the question from his teacher brought him back to class from what he was thinking.
“What will you want to become when you grow up?”
He just gave the answer, “I want to be successful when I grow up.”
This shows that James has got an ambition but it's clearly a blind one.
Someone wants to get rich but the way to follow is anonymous.
James continued to focus his attention on schooling and achieving good results.
After 6 years James was already in college where he laid a proper foundation on what he wants his future to look like just by making sure all his results are worth it.
James only found himself in a class that studies social science causes, then he became even more confused but then he knew things were still going to fall in place, everything seems to be working as though he planned it from the initials but James knew none of those things happened with him putting any of them in place.
Not long after James graduated from college he gained admission into a tertiary institution where he was given a course to study. He didn't really know where he would be after studying that course but then he just believed that he was still on his way to greatness.
So diligently, he studied his course and made sure he gets it right even though where he is going to is not yet clear to him. Getting good grades in Bsc Economics wouldn't be a bad idea.
“When you finish studying, where would you prefer to work?” James never expected that question from Kate his newly found girlfriend.
This called back the memory of when he was in primary school his teacher used to ask him such question and he is always dump founded when ever such question comes.
“ I want to be successful” James said to his girlfriend expecting it to end there just like his teacher will always do, but this time around it was a different and inquisitive person who wants to know who she is dealing with.
Though he never had interest in her his love for her dropped immediately when she came up with that question.
Kate saw the zeal to become a great person in the eyes of James but the only problem is that he certainly doesn't know how to go about it, even though James is good when it comes to academics.
Kate has fallen so deeply in love with James but she is confused on how to go about it, having someone who has no direction could be dangerous.
It's the final year and they are about to graduate from school when James pulls out a surprise.
He came to kate on the day of their final exams.
“Will you marry me”? Kate did not expect this young man to come up with such an idea, how will someone who doesn't know where he is going pull up such an idea of getting married?
But then her eyes turned round to see the multitude of cameras covering them. “Yes,” she replied.
James became even more relieved since he knew from that moment that he just made a step of becoming what he wants to be, that was after his finding on how influential Kate's father is and his capability to get one a very nice and good job within the town if eventually one marry his daughter as none of these rich people will want their daughters to go into Marriage with someone who is almost nothing.
They try to make their daughters comfortable wherever they are. James knew that alone was a jackpot.
He knew he just stepped on the first invincible staircase to success.
James got what he wanted as soon as they graduated from school he was given a job with one of the finest companies as a managing director.
All this is just so he can be able to take care of Kate as all was orchestrated by the father of his wife.
Mission accomplished as James gets everything he wants on a platter of gold without stress.
He did whatever he did, just to fulfill his blind ambition without considering a young girl’s love but then he did not have to mess up as he could strip off everything he got as a result of not loving her again.
so continued to manage loving a Lady he never loved.
What matters most to him is the fact that he remains at the top.
