Breathe And Remember.

"What date was it?" The voice asked again and this time, Sasha could hear the words.

What day was it? She asked herself. Her mind went off in different directions as she held her ears to stop the piercing sound but it didn't work. She screamed out and her body shook until pairs of hands held her still.

"Breathe, Sasha, breathe". The familiar voice said and so she did. Taking in lots of air that almost choked her until she coughed out.

Her eyes were bloodshot as she stared at her therapist, Mrs. Kara.

"I don't remember". She spoke, her voice quivering a bit as she hugged herself. "I don't remember". She said again as she quietly sobbed.

The pairs of hands held her again in a warm embrace and she accepted it for a moment before she stood up.

"I need to remember the date but I need my diary. I have to continue searching for it", she said hurriedly leaving Mrs. Kara's office.

A wave of cold hit her the moment she left her therapist's office to the busy road. Winter is here and she wished she could remember. After all, the incident happened during a winter and all she had to do was to remember.

Years have passed since the incident. Four years to be exact when she came out of a coma and many seasons have passed but she had waited for this one. It may sound stupid but she feels it may trigger her memory and help her remember what happened.

Sasha was once married, so she heard... Maybe married for some hours until tragedy struck her and her "so-called husband" Erik. But the thing is, she doesn't remember him.

Even when she was shown pictures of them together and messages retrieved from her phone, she still didn't remember him, and it is heartbreaking because she seemed happy with him in every picture she saw. "Then, why can't she remember him?" She questioned her inner self and it hurts.

This is why she needed to find her diary as she does remember she writes everything there only that... She couldn't find her diary and could not remember the date she met "Him".

On getting home, she went straight to her room. After her revival from her coma, she decided to stay with her parents. She remembered them and every other friend of hers but not him.

It was like he never existed in her world and her friends have helped out a lot in helping her remember by telling her some stories of him but it didn't help. Instead, it fueled her anger which made her isolate herself from people only her therapist made an exception. She always felt comfortable speaking with Mrs. Kara.

Pulling off her clothes, she walked to the bathroom and put on the shower while watching how the water cascaded down her body. She wished she could feel his presence but she didn't. She stayed long enough showering until her teeth clatter endlessly. Wrapping herself up, she got out of the bathroom, wore a robe, and began searching her room again.

She had ordered the moving company to move her stuff to her parent's place after she moved in with them and she had searched all the stuff they brought in starting from the garage and now her room but she didn't find it.

A sound escaped her lips as cried in defeat. More tears flowed out and she didn't stop them. Her cries were mumbled which made it more painful before sleep camped her.

The sound of her alarm woke her up and she mildly scratched her face, as she hid it from the scorching sun which penetrated her room.

Standing up, she looked at the mess she created and sighed deeply. There seems to be an arrangement to be done. Her Mum would have screamed if she had messed up the room in her teen years but now, she doesn't seem to care... Maybe because she understood her pains.

Picking up her phone, she turned on the radio and leveled up the volume like she always did. Tying her hair up in a ponytail, she walked to the bathroom as she brushed, and washed her face before coming out to start arranging.

The music from the radio switched to another and another until a familiar song came up.

Sasha's heart raced a million beats as she listened to the song. Tears filled her eyes as she clutched her chest tightly heaving uncontrollably.

The books she was holding already hit the floor and the thump sound made hurt her ears.

"Stop it", she whispered inaudibly. "Stop the music", she whimpered but none heard her. Tons of images came running into her mind as she screamed out weakly.

Her breath hitched and she found it hard to breathe. Her throat seemed cloaked as she struggled to breathe. Her body yanked forward as she struggled to move her body to the door but all energy was lost. Her eyes became blurry and she closed it but a voice woke her up.

The voice sounded familiar and had a thick British accent to it. The sound of the voice made her feel safe as she struggled to reclaim her breath but all attempts were futile.

"Take a deep breath baby". The voice said. "Breathe in the salty smell of the sea. It is wonderful, isn't it?"The voice asked and she nodded.

"Now, open your eyes", the voice continued and she did. Standing before her at the beach was Erik with one leg up and the other down as he asked.

"Will you marry me, pumpkin?" and she nodded.

Tears filled her eyes as she felt a pair of hands holding her up.

"Sasha, baby, are you okay?" Her Mum asked.

Hugging her mother tightly she nodded as she sobbed.

"I remember, Mum…I remember him". She hiccuped. "We met on the 25th of April 2018 at the beach. The same beach he proposed to me and that day was one of the happiest days of my life".

"Oh my goodness, I remember, Ma". She continued, "I will never forget him again as all I need is our music to trigger the memory". "All I needed was to hear "Super Love" by Celine Dion". She said with a smile.
