A mi novio y a mi nos encanta ir a la playa así que este fin de semana decidimos recorrer la costa y sus playas tan hermosas, fue una gran aventura ya que nunca habíamos hecho ese recorrido antes. Salimos de Los Teques para Caracas a las 7am, llegamos a La Guaira a las 9am, desayunamos unas ricas empanadas y comenzamos a subir la montaña...
My boyfriend and I love going to the beach so this weekend we decided to go to the coast and its beautiful beaches, it was a great adventure since we had never done this trip before. We left Los Teques for Caracas at 7am, we arrived in La Guaira at 9am, had some delicious empanadas for breakfast and started to climb the mountain...
A eso del mediodía comenzamos a ver los con diferentes pueblitos como Osma, Quebrada seca y Oritapo que fue donde nos paramos y es el que se muestra en la foto, este pueblito es muy especial para mí ya que ahí vivía mi abuelo y tengo mis mejores recuerdos de cuando era niña, todas mis vacaciones eran en esa casa, jugando con mis primos, comiendo arepa a la leña, parrilla y yendo al rio o la playa porque de verdad quedan muy cerca de la casa. Fue muy difícil para mí ir de nuevo a Oritapo ya que mi abuelo falleció hace unos meses por Covid, y al llegar allá y no verlo en su casita fue muy fuerte, todos los recuerdos llegaron a mi mente, lloré un poco pero luego agradecí el haber vivido tantos momentos tan lindos con mi familia y mi abuelito que era un señor súper alegre, lleno de energía, le encantaba pescar y pasar tiempo en familia, siempre tenía una historia, un chiste algo para hacerte reír y eso me encantaba. Aquí estoy yo mostrando la casa.
At around noon we started to see the different towns like Osma, Quebrada seca and Oritapo which was where we stopped and is the one shown in the photo, this town is very special to me because my grandfather lived there and I have my best memories as a child, all my vacations were in that house, playing with my cousins, eating arepa to firewood, grilling and going to the river or the beach because they are really very close to the house. It was very difficult for me to go back to Oritapo because my grandfather passed away a few months ago by Covid, and when I arrived there and not seeing him in his little house was very strong, all the memories came to my mind, I cried a little but then I was grateful to have lived so many beautiful moments with my family and my grandfather who was a super cheerful man, full of energy, he loved fishing and spending time with family, he always had a story, a joke something to make you laugh and I loved that. Luego de bajarnos a caminar en Oritapo seguimos nuestro recorrido para Urama, una playa que queda cerca de ahí, es bellísima, tiene una cueva donde puedes entrar y sales a otra playa, la vista desde arriba es increíble, el aire fresco y la arena suavecita, había una piedra gigante así que decidimos tomarnos algunas fotos en la playa y seguir subiendo la montaña hasta llegar a nuestro destino La Sabana.
After getting off to walk in Oritapo we continued our journey to Urama, a beach that is close to there, it is beautiful, has a cave where you can enter and exit to another beach, the view from above is amazing, the fresh air and soft sand, there was a giant stone so we decided to take some pictures on the beach and continue climbing the mountain to reach our destination La Sabana.
Después de visitar Urama nos paramos a comer una sandwich que habíamos llevado ya listos para no perder mucho tiempo ya que es un viaje largo, ahí hablamos con las personas del pueblo, una señora que vendía unos helados divinos, de uva de playa, coco, parchita o maracuyá como le dicen en algunos países. Yo pedí uno de uva de playa ya que nunca había probado esas uvas y de verdad que son riquísimas son dulces pero un poco acidas al final, de verdad excelente elección, mi novio pidió de coco y nuestros amigos pidieron de uva y parchita, también hablamos con un señor que estaba vendiendo pescado fresco, nos contó que se iba en la mañana de pesca y en la tarde vendía los pescados en el pueblo.
After visiting Urama we stopped to eat a sandwich that we had brought ready to not waste much time since it is a long trip, there we talked with the people of the town, a lady who sold divine ice cream, beach grape, coconut, parchita or passion fruit as they say in some countries. I asked for one of beach grape because I had never tried those grapes and they are really delicious, they are sweet but a little sour at the end, really excellent choice, my boyfriend asked for coconut and our friends asked for grape and parchita, we also talked to a man who was selling fresh fish, he told us that he was going fishing in the morning and in the afternoon he sold the fish in the village.
Al finnnnn, LLEGAMOS A LA SABANA ya era tarde así que buscamos una posada donde dormir para poder continuar con nuestro recorrido el domingo. Por la mañana hicimos unas arepas con huevo revuelto, tomate y cebolla, mejor conocido como perico y arrancamos nuestro viaje de nuevo pero esta vez ya teníamos destino y era Pozo el Cura, jamás había ido, de verdad que llegar era un poco complicado ya que había que meter los carros por el río, gracias a Dios todos tenían camionetas rusticas y era un poco más sencillo recorrer el río, al llegar al pozo me tomo con la sorpresa de que:
- No éramos los únicos ahí, habían muchas más personas
- Había una caída de agua
- El pozo era súper súper hondo
- El agua era cristalina totalmente y estaba muy fría
De verdad que fue amor a primera vista, algo que no podía explicar, en el pozo había un tronco de árbol caído y la gente se subía y luego lanzaba de ahí, yo lo intenté pero mi equilibrio es demasiado malo así que me bajé porque me daba miedo caer en una piedra y que algo malo pasara un poco fatalista yo la verdad jajaja pero luego encontré una piedra que era más baja y no era tan difícil montarse para lanzarse al agua. les pongo foticos par que se enamoren conmigo 😍😍😍
Finally, WE ARRIVED IN LA SABANA it was already late so we looked for an inn where to sleep to continue our journey on Sunday. In the morning we made some arepas with scrambled egg, tomato and onion, better known as perico and we started our trip again but this time we already had a destination and it was Pozo el Cura, I had never been there before, it was really complicated to get there because we had to take the cars through the river, thank God everyone had rustic vans and it was a little easier to go through the river, when we arrived to the well I was surprised to find that:
- we were not the only ones there, there were many more people.
- There was a waterfall
- The well was super deep
- The water was crystal clear and was so cold
Truly it was love at first sight, something that I could not explain, in the well there was a fallen tree trunk and people climbed and then launched from there, I tried but my balance is too bad so I got off because I was afraid of falling on a stone and something bad would happen a little fatalistic me the truth hahaha but then I found a stone that was lower and it was not so difficult to get on it to jump into the water. Lo más divertido de Pozo el cura lo descubrimos casi al final de la tarde y era que detrás de la caída de agua había un espacio, digamos una cueva lo suficientemente grande para entrar 5 personas, el gran problema era entrar porque el agua caía con muchísima fuerza, así que para entrar hicimos una especie de cadena humana y una persona iba halando a la otra, así hasta estar todos dentro de la cueva. Cuando entré a la cueva admito que me dio un poco de claustrofobia y miedo al ver tanta agua que caía y la fuerza que tenía pero luego me calme, estuvimos ahí un rato y nadie podía creer que estabamos ahí dentro. Ya después a las 5pm decidimos volver porque era domingo y teníamos que trabajar al día siguiente y el viaje era largo entonces tuvimos que volver pero sin duda esta sería una experiencia que volvería a repetir muchas veces, conocer lugares nuevos es algo que me apasiona, la naturaleza y todo lo bonito que tiene para ofrecernos.

The funniest thing about Pozo el cura we discovered almost at the end of the afternoon and it was that behind the waterfall there was a space, let's say a cave big enough for 5 people to enter, the big problem was to enter because the water was falling with great force, so to enter we made a kind of human chain and one person was pulling the other, so until we were all inside the cave. When I entered the cave I admit that I was a little claustrophobic and scared to see so much water falling and the force it had but then I calmed down, we were there for a while and no one could believe we were in there. Afterwards at 5pm we decided to go back because it was Sunday and we had to work the next day and the trip was long so we had to go back but without a doubt this would be an experience that I would repeat many times, to know new places is something that I love, nature and all the beautiful things it has to offer.
