Relaxation and Pampering On A Cold Sunday

29th January 2024

The last two weeks of January seem to be a freezing point for us, as temperatures fall below 15° and even below 10° every night. Some people may not find it excessive, but I have to cuddle up with a hot compress pad on a chilly night to fall asleep because I have no heater in my room. Given so, my travel plans on weekends were postponed for a while because I don't like traveling on gloomy days. In addition to cold temperatures, I dislike overcast views.

Sunday came and I had plans in mind: sleep until noon, then go jogging in the afternoon. I need some warm-up exercises to beat the cold. Beforehand, I fed my stomach with sesame balls and hot pumpkin porridge. It had been fulfilled, as I had been craving porridge since the previous day.

I had a little break before I resumed my afternoon stroll. Since I couldn't run right after eating, I took some time to walk around and stretch when I discovered a nice area. Then I begin my afternoon workouts at a leisurely pace by going up the stairs in the park.

After some stretching, I continued walking around the park. It seemed like these domestic workers didn't bother about the cold weather as they preferred to stay outdoors rather than somewhere indoors. If I didn't do some stretching, I would feel too cold. This type of weather is ideal for staying inside or in bed and binge-watching and eating.

Despite the frigid weather, there were quite a lot of people at the park. There are picnics and other events hosted by various groups. I used to be able to withstand the cold and spend a lot of time outside like them. I now have to take precautions to stay warm when I'm outside.

Stairs are truly captivating and I like jogging on them when going up and down. It's a beneficial aerobic workout that improves my heart rate and stimulates blood flow. My body does stay warmer when doing so.

As I walked by the Butterfly Garden, I noticed that new flowers were once again beginning to bloom. This is just one of the park's attractions, and lovely blooming flowers are truly captivating. I snapped some pictures of these adorable newly showered flowers that I found. They are properly cared for and kept hydrated by the park's maintenance.

I spotted a few people jogging at the park. It's a spacious place for sports activities. There are even fitness corners made for the elderly, but can also be used by others.

There are playgrounds for kids too, and sports grounds for students. A spacious camping site and picnic area are perfect for weekend bonding with friends and family.

Walking alone in this park is relaxing. The gardens and pathways are picturesque. There are plenty of activities to enjoy and lovely sites to photograph. It's a rather effective way to get away from the busy city. This is a much nicer place to walk than the crowded city streets.

Some lawns seemed to have been shaved and withered leaves from the autumn season had been cleaned. They are, perhaps, preparing the spaces for the coming spring season. Soon, beautiful creatures will blossom at this park. I just couldn't wait to capture them.

The jogging track marked the end of my stroll. Before I started my jog, I had had enough stretching and walking. This time, a few people are walking past, so it's fairly calm. I stretched one last time and went for a jog. I haven't gone for a jog or run in a while. I felt like my body needed some adjustments. It's not the same as merely trekking and hiking.

I started from a slow pace to a moderate pace. My phone was just in my grip, so it was pretty easy to capture the scenic track while jogging. Such a pretty place, isn't it? With the view alone, you'll be relaxed.

Probably a thousand or more meters would make up the entire track if I started at the park's entrance. However, it would only take a few minutes to complete the red jogging track. The jogging track's end is marked as 600 meters, but I found an 800-meter endpoint by following the red pathways.

I took a break for a moment as I felt a little discomfort. I noticed that this always happens to me when I don't jog for a long period. I just ignored it before, but it seems troublesome this time.

Have you experienced having itchy legs while continuously jogging? I thought it was just friction between my skin and clothing that irritated my skin. But it happens every time, so it's more like exercise-induced urticaria based on the symptoms. There was even a time before when my legs got red rashes after jogging, but only temporarily. There is not much to worry about, though, I hope. It's just my immune system response triggered by exercising.

I was unsatisfied with my jog after a short rest, so I went to some fitness corners to get a little extra workout. Those were made for the elderly, so it's pretty obvious that I exercised with them. Fitness equipment is incredibly beneficial for maintaining physical fitness and keeping range of motion active, and this is available for both elderly and younger adults.

This reminded me of @sensiblecast hung, pull, and dip exercises. I gave it a few tries before giving up since I found it embarrassing to perform in front of other people, especially since I found it really challenging to push and pull my body. I still need more practice, lol.

At four in the afternoon, I decided I'd had enough warm-up exercises and left the park. I decided to get some food for dinner and afternoon tea snacks before I went back home.

I savored my sausage and cheese bun, chocolate-filled biscuits, and hot green tea while watching a Korean drama. There are moments when I want to stay like this, unwinding and taking in my rest day. What a delightful treat following some warm-up activities. I lost some calories but eventually gained them back 😂. You can tell that I was just indulging myself.

My dinner consisted of hot cup noodles and McDonald's fried chicken that I had takeout while I continued watching Kdrama. I just loved my relaxation and self-pampering on the cold weekend.

Can I stay like this forever? You can tell that my weekend went well. Despite not being able to travel, I treated myself to some workout, eye candy Kdrama, some sweets, and the cravings granted. What a life! Even gloomy days can be enjoyable, right?

Happy new week!

Thanks for your time.
