Not quite sure if greed or procrastination plays the key role whenever my very close friend of tells me about how he wants to make so much money from business and how he wishes to start a new business soon. This has been going on for years and in all honesty, I'm actually getting tired of hearing the "I want to"s and "When I"s because we keep going round the same circle and nothing ever gets done.
I've tried to assist in my own little ways with cash to at least help any business idea he has come to life but this my friend underates the ideas of starting small and expect some big funds from his parents before he starts any business. I'm also beginning to think he's delusional because he has quite a large number of siblings and there's really not much the parents can do right now due to the economic situation in the country.
I've personally introduced him to Hive and even assisted in the making an intro post, but till date, the person didn't make the intro post on Hive because he feels the money from Hive is too small. This is someone who's also totally dependent on her parents who haven't been doing so much lately.
Enough of the story that inspired this post, but its truly surprising how we live in a world where people like to start big without the funds or resources to start big. Many of the most successful business brands in the world today weren't as big as most start up companies today when they started their business. Quite a large number of billionaires started their business in the rooms and some in their parent's basement.
Starting now and small and managing the resources available would help the business owner also understand what the business really needs and so if the help they were waiting for came, they knew exactly what part of the business needed the funds and that would definitely make the business boom faster. Starting small doesn't affect the money they could receive from anyone who wants to support their business ideas. Personally, I think people even tend to support when they see you're making progress. So why waste time and keep waiting for some money that may never come.
This feels more like a rant because this is a close friend and I've tried everything I could possibly do as a friend by giving advices and sharing valuable information. Hopefully it doesn't get too late before he realises that the world isn't a bed of roses and sometimes, we have to just birth our ideas and dreams and nurture them like a child
