Description:
DAY function in Excel or Google Sheets converts a serial number of a date to a day of the month.
It returns an integer from 1-31 as we see in calendars.
You can use DAY function to get the DAY number from your TODAY function or NOW function which can be used in dashboards and summary sheets.
I commonly use this DAY function together with MONTH, YEAR, and DATE functions.
Function Structure:
=DAY(serial_number)
Arguments
serial_number - this is the date or serial number representing a date
Examples
45258 in cell B7 is a serial number corresponding to November 28, 2023
