After spending several hours in front of the screen looking for this film, I finally found it. I couldn't pass up this film produced by A24. I have read good reviews about it and some not so good.
What I understood from those bad reviews is that they found absurd the black 'Generation Z' humor that is handled within the plot, it's understandable that not everyone likes it or can simply assimilate it, but the goal here, is to laugh at the idiocies that the characters do.
This is an slasher where horror is conspicuous by its absence, replaced entirely by the absurd comedy that abounds throughout the film. Obnoxious characters, juvenile drama, tense situations full of superficial and banal discussions, I think you can't ask for more.

Después de pasar varias horas frente a la pantalla buscando esta película, finalmente la encontré. No podía dejar pasar ver este filme producido por la A24. He leído buenas críticas sobre ella y algunas no tanto.
Lo que entendí de esas malas críticas es que les pareció absurdo el humor negro ‘Generación Z’ que se maneja dentro de la trama, es comprensible que no a todo el mundo le guste o simplemente pueda asimilarlo, pero el objetivo aquí, es reírnos de las idioteces que hacen los personajes.
Este es un slasher donde el terror brilla por su ausencia, reemplazado en su totalidad por la comedia absurda que abunda en toda la película. Personajes detestables, drama juvenil, situaciones de tensión llenas de discusiones superficiales y banales, creo que no se puede pedir más.

Bodies Bodies Bodies, was directed by Dutch director Halina Reijn, who by the way doesn't have much of a track record as a film director, although she seems to like neon colors. Sarah DeLappe was her screenwriter, based on Kristen Roupenian's short story. The film's contemporary, danceable music was crafted by Rich Vreeland and cinematography by Jasper Wolf.
The cast includes Amandla Stenberg and Maria Bakalova, along with Rachel Sennott, Myha'la Herrold, Pete Davidson, Chase Sui Wonders, Lee Pace and Conner O'Malley. It was produced and distributed by A24 with a running time of 95 minutes, grossing $13.5 million USD so far.

Plot and opinion
It's amazing what an embarrassing situation can trigger, like a row of dominoes falling quickly one after another. The story centers on a group of upper-middle and upper-class kids, who have a private party at the mansion of one of them.
Sophie, who is a friend of these guys, embarks to the said place along with her girlfriend Bee uninvited. They all focus on a spiral of drinking, dancing and a little cocaine as well; typical of rich American teenagers, who think they can eat the world and do whatever they please.
During the party, they decide to play a game called 'Bodies Bodies Bodies Bodies', in which one of them must play the role of a killer while the others hide. The situation becomes tense when they find the lifeless body of one of their friends, from this moment on things start to get worse.
The place is hit by a terrible storm, caused by a strong hurricane, which causes the power to go out and Sophie's car not to work to get help. Typical of these slashers movies where the victims are young people in remote places, with no signal or services and no responsible adult nearby to turn to.
It gave me a good laugh that despite the situation they were in, they were just arguing with each other and bringing out truths, implying that they didn't really like each other. An absurd thing, but that really worked within the plot, was the excess of black humor that was constantly written on all the walls of that mansion.
I thought the performances were sublime, since the objective, in my opinion, was to make you as a spectator detest those spoiled and egomaniacal teenagers. I really just hoped that the killer, whoever it was, would finish them off quickly, as I couldn't stand those kids and how badly they treated each other.
The character I hated the most was Alice; that irritating, despicable, self-centered girl, who had not an ounce of empathy with her friends, although they didn't do the same with her either, her character and her witticisms made the plot funnier, despite being so obnoxious.
The direction of the scenes seems to be so well done, that after watching the ending, you realize certain things and end up deducing unfinished images. The film exposes with acid humor what happens when people find themselves in a situation where they don't know who to trust, and that idea, although over-exploited, managed to fit very well here.
I liked it when they argued and let their problems and dramas out, even though they knew they were in danger of being killed. The dialogues seemed well done and justified the fear and corruption that made them all turn against each other.
However, in it we can find repetitive elements and resources that were already used in other films, anyone would say that they are necessary, because without them there would be no film, it is true, but that makes it typical and we are already so stuffed with stereotypes of films that nothing surprises us anymore.
In contrast to this, I think that handling everything with witty and black humor gave it that differential touch that made me enjoy it a lot, because, although I could not stand those teenagers, their discussions and their dramas gave me a lot of laughter and it has been one of the dialogues in comedy films that I have enjoyed the most.
Trama y opinión
Es increíble lo que una embarazosa situación puede desencadenar, como una fila de dominós cayendo rápidamente uno tras otro. La historia se centra en un grupo de chicos de clase media alta y alta, que tienen una fiesta privada en la mansión de uno de ellos.
Sophie, quien es amiga de estos chicos, se embarca a dicho lugar junto con su novia Bee sin ser invitada. Todos se centran en una espiral de bebidas alcohólicas, bailes y un poco de cocaína también; típico de los adolescentes ricos de Estados Unidos, que creen que pueden comerse el mundo y hacer lo que les plazca.
Durante la fiesta, deciden jugar un juego llamado ‘Bodies Bodies Bodies’, en el que uno de ellos debe de hacer el papel de un asesino mientras los demás se esconden. La situación se pone tensa cuando encuentran el cuerpo sin vida de uno de sus amigos, a partir de este momento las cosas empiezan a ponerse peor.
El lugar está azotado por una terrible tormenta, provocada por un fuerte huracán, lo que hace que se vaya la luz y el auto de Sophie no funcione para salir a buscar ayuda. Típico de estas películas slashers donde las víctimas son jóvenes que se encuentran en lugares alejados, sin señal ni servicios y sin un adulto responsable cerca a quien poder acudir.
Me dio mucha risa de que a pesar de la situación en la que se hallaban, solo discutían entre ellos y sacaban verdades, dando a entender que en realidad no se agradaban. Una cosa absurda, pero que de verdad funcionó dentro de la trama, fue el exceso de humor negro que no dejaba de tildar en todas las paredes de aquella mansión.
Las actuaciones me parecieron sublimes, ya que el objetivo a mí parecer era que uno como espectador detestara a esos adolescentes malcriados y ególatras. De verdad que yo solo esperaba que el asesino, fuera quien fuera, acabara con ellos rápido, ya que no soportaba a esos chicos y lo mal que se trataban entre ellos.
El personaje que más odié fue el de Alice; esa chica irritante, despreciable, egocéntrico, el cual no tenía ni un ápice de empatía con sus amigos, aunque ellos tampoco hacían lo mismo con ella, su personaje y sus ocurrencias hacían que la trama fuera más divertida, a pesar de ser tan detestable.
La dirección de las escenas parece estar tan bien hecha, que después de ver el final, te das cuenta de ciertas cosas y terminas de deducir imágenes inconclusas. La película expone con un humor ácido lo que pasa cuando las personas se encuentran en una situación en la que no saben en quien confiar, y esa idea, aunque en exceso explotada, logró encajar muy bien aquí.
Me gustaba cuando discutían y dejaban salir sus problemas y dramas, aun sabiendo que estaban en peligro de ser asesinados. Los diálogos parecen estar bien hechos y justificado el miedo y la corrupción que hacía que todos ellos se pusieran en contra.
Sin embargo, en ella podemos encontrar elementos repetitivos y recursos que ya se usaron en otras películas, cualquiera diría que son necesarios, pues sin ellos no habría película, es verdad, pero eso lo hace típico y ya estamos tan atiborrados de estereotipos de filmes que ya nada nos sorprende.
En contraparte de esto, creo que manejar todo con humor ocurrente y negro le dio ese toque diferencial que hizo que la disfrutara mucho, pues, aunque no aguantaba ya a esos adolescentes, sus discusiones y sus dramas me dieron mucha risa y ha sido uno de los diálogos en películas de comedia que más he disfrutado.
Conclusions
I'm a fan of slashers and this one didn't disappoint me by bringing a different approach. It does its job well in creating characters we can hate, and recreating an atmosphere of tension in which we can witness how they destroy each other.
I can't go on talking about the rest without making spoilers, but I can talk about how egocentrism and lack of empathy dominate people to lash out even against your own friends. With an excess of black comedy and scarce horror, this becomes a very appealing installment for this year.
You will not get scared here, however, if you are one of those who enjoy the typical sense of humor of Generation Z and enjoy the plots with witty dialogues, this film is recommended, as it teaches us that the only killer to fear is human stupidity.
Conclusiones
Soy fan de los slashers y este no me ha decepcionado por traer una propuesta diferente. Hace bien su trabajo en crear personajes que podamos odiar, y recrear una atmósfera de tensión en la que podemos presenciar cómo se destruyen los unos a los otros.
No puedo seguir hablando demás sin hacer spoilers, pero si hablar de cómo el egocentrismo y la falta de empatía dominan a las personas para arremeter hasta contra tus propios amigos. Con exceso de comedia negra y escaso terror, esta se convierte en una entrega muy atractiva para este año.
No conseguirás miedo aquí, sin embargo, si eres de los que disfruta el típico sentido del humor de la Generación Z y disfrutas las tramas con diálogos ocurrentes, es recomendable esta película, ya que nos enseña que el único asesino al que hay que temer, es a la estupidez humana.
