Welcome to my another architectural topic. The previous steps took me to Renaissance buildings from the early 19th century. I have taken you to the exhibition halls of the Main railway station building in Prague after its completed reconstruction and to the Vinohrady Theatre building, which is awaiting reconstruction.

It is the most important Roman Catholic church, the burial place of Czech kings and the depository of the crown jewels of the Czech Republic. In its more than 1000 years of history and this cathedral has been through many wars and fires. Nevertheless, it has survived to this day, almost unchanged since the mid-13th century.
Je to nejvýznamnější římskokatolický kostel, pohřebiště českých králů a úschovna korunovačních klenotů České republiky. Za více než 1000letou historii si tato katedrála prošla řadou válek a požárů. Přesto se nám zachovala do dnešních dní, v téměř nezměněné podobě od poloviny 13.století.
Personally, this unusual tour left a great impression on me. I was surprised by the precision and ornateness of the Gothic style, which I had associated only with narrow, curved arches and subtle walls.
Osobně na mne zanechala tato nevšední prohlídka velký dojem. Překvapila mne preciznost a zdobnost gotického stylu, který jsem měl spojen pouze s úzkými, zalomenými oblouky a subtilními zdmi.

A walkway with busts of important personalities who participated in the construction and operation of the cathedral runs around the perimeter.
Po obvodu vede ochoz s bustami významných osobností, které se na stavbě a provozu katedrály podíleli.
It is also possible to walk along it to the parapet ledge (if you have keys), which allows you to walk around the perimeter of the cathedral, about 20 metres above the ground.
Po ní je možné dojít i na parapetní římsu, po které se dá katedrála obejít po obvodu, zhruba 20 metrů nad zemí.

It is a symmetrical stained glass window in the shape of a rose, which illuminates the entrance.
