Honeymoon moon trip to Dubrovnik part two

This is the second part dedicated to my honeymoon trip to Dubrovnik where I went now almost a month ago. Oh I miss my honeymoon so much. By the way let's talk a little more about this trip I will talk better about some sites and churches.

I love art and history so we try to visit as much places as we can, in a cruise ship you have only some hours for visiting the cities where we stop so you must organise well your trip.

The first place we visited was the saint Ignatius church one of the most impressive of the city, you go there after walk a long stair it's really cool, in a barocco style it's very rich in decorations especially in the inner side, but also the outdoor side it's rich of sculptures and angels. The church have a lot of tourists in it also because the entrance it's free and the inner side it's amazing.

Inside there are many frescoes, tryptic and other art and sculptures stuff dedicated to  saint Ignatius and the virgin Mary .Here the games of thrones cast played the walk of the shame scene.

After the visit of the church we take a little walk for visiting the cathedral and the clock tower square we met a market in the gundulic square that is the market square, we find a local market full of vegetables, fruits, healthy and beauty natural products the market is quire big and really full of people especially tourists. The square take the name from the poet Ivan Gundulic, there is also a sculpture dedicated to him.

We brought some almonds and fruits snacks that help us to fight the super warm weather.

Then we arrived in front of the cathedral of saint Mary assumption, barocco style too really big and full of sculptures, it was almost destroyed in the earthquake but it was rebuilt with the help of an Italian architect Bufalini. We did not enter in it unfortunately because it was full of people and we were really tired of places full of people, the city it's really a lot touristic so almost everywhere there are many people.

We walked in the luza square where is situated the clock tower, this is one of the main place of the city after the steady the biggest main street you arrive in front of  the clock. The tower was damaged many times during the earthquake of Croatia and the one of Montenegro and was rebuilt. It's 31 meters high.

The luza square is close to all the important points of the city, the cathedral, the saint vlaco church, the teathre and the sponza palace.

I pothographed the column and the inner part of the sponza palace. A mix of gothic and renaissance architecture. Now it's an archive.

The square it's really full of things to visit and we pass here much of our time, we also visited the many souvenir shops but we notice that are really very expensive more expensive than in Italy crazy! I never imagined Dubrovnik so expensive.

By the way the city it's so beautiful that worth the money, well for today it's all see you soon in tye third and last part of my trip in Duv
