After a long weekend with another trip in between, we're back with the usual schedule 😅. Our vacation in the province of Neuquén was only in its third day but we had already done a lot of things. We didn't want to waste a minute, so after replenishing our strength we took our things and set off: there was still a lot to see. And it's that this place is so beautiful and the weather was perfect that it invited you to be outside all day ❤️.
Después de un fin de semana largo con otro paseo intermedio, volvemos con la programación habitual 😅. Nuestras vacaciones en la provincia de Neuquén apenas iban por su tercer día pero ya habíamos hecho un montón de cosas. No queríamos desaprovechar un minuto, así que luego de reponer fuerzas agarramos nuestras cosas y emprendimos viaje: aún había muchísimo para ver. Y es que este lugar es tan hermoso y el clima tan perfecto que te invitaba a estar todo el día afuera ❤️.
Undoubtedly, the great star of San Martín de Los Andes is the immense Lácar Lake, with all its shores to spend the day, sail in its waters or simply admire it from some panoramic point of the city. With more than 25 km long and 3 km wide, it represents one of the main tourist attractions in this area, but it is enough to go a little further along the route to find other landscapes as beautiful as these ❤️.
Sin dudas la gran estrella de San Martín de Los Andes es el inmenso Lago Lácar, con todas sus costas para pasar el día, navegar en sus aguas o simplemente admirarlo desde algún punto panorámico de la ciudad. Con más de 25 km de largo y 3 km de ancho, representa uno de los principales atractivos turísticos de esta zona, , pero basta con alejarse un poco por la ruta para encontrar otros paisajes tan hermosos como esos ❤️.
To access this city coming from the south of the country, we must take the famous National Route 40. This route is the longest in Argentina: it runs more than 5,000 km parallel to the Andes Mountains, passing through all kinds of climates and landscapes. . At the height of the province of Neuquén, an important section is the so-called "Camino de los Siete Lagos", where on the sides we can see a series of water mirrors, each one with its magic and particularity ❤️.
Para acceder a esta ciudad viniendo desde el sur del país, debemos tomar la famosa Ruta Nacional 40. Esta ruta es la más larga de Argentina: recorre más de 5000 km paralela a la Cordillera de Los Andes, pasando por todo tipo de climas y paisajes. A la altura de la provincia de Neuquén, un tramo importante es el llamado "Camino de los Siete Lagos", en donde a los costados podemos ver una serie de espejos de agua, cada uno con su magia y particularidad ❤️.

In my opinion, to cover this stretch of more than 100 km and admire the landscapes it offers, a single day is not enough. Each of these lakes has a viewpoint to stop and take pictures, but imagine that in January, high season, the only thing that was not lacking was people. So we only stopped at the ones with parking and the rest we only saw from the car.
En mi opinión, para recorrer este tramo de más de 100 km y admirar los paisajes que ofrece no es suficiente un solo día. Cada uno de estos lagos tiene un mirador para frenar y tomar fotografías, pero se imaginan que en Enero, plena temporada alta, lo único que no faltaba era gente. Entonces, solo nos detuvimos en los que había lugar para estacionar y los demás solo los vimos desde el auto.
The first lake we were able to see up close was Lake Villarino. It was very early in the morning, so the sun was facing the mountains, forming a beautiful mirror in the water. I had already seen these lakes on my visit in 2018, but I was enchanted as if it were the first time. The mountain and the reflection were seen with almost the same sharpness. Amazing! 😃
El primer lago que pudimos ver de cerca fue el Lago Villarino. Era muy temprano a la mañana, por lo que el sol daba de frente a las montañas, formando un hermoso espejo en el agua. Yo ya había visto estos lagos en mi visita en 2018, pero me quedé encantada como si fuera la primera vez. La montaña y el reflejo se veían casi con la misma nitidez. ¡Increíble! 😃

The second lake that we could "see" (in quotes) was the Escondido Lake (Hidden Lake). When we got off we discovered why there was no one at this viewpoint. Nothing was visible! If there is a lake that has its name right, it is this one, it is well hidden. At least we knew it was there, because the water was barely visible through the trees. Well, at least we could say we met it 😅.
El segundo lago que pudimos "ver" (entre comillas) fue el Lago Escondido. Cuando nos bajamos descubrimos por qué no había nadie en este mirador. ¡No se veía nada! Si hay un lago que tiene bien puesto su nombre es este, sí que está bien escondido. Al menos supimos que está ahí, porque entre los árboles apenas se veía el agua. Bueno, por lo menos pudimos decir que lo conocimos 😅.
I must say that it was a bit frustrating not being able to stop almost anywhere, but imagine that these lakes were on the side of a very busy road: there was no place to do some weird parking maneuver, or worse, stop anywhere. Anyway, we settled for seeing the rest of the lakes as we passed, BUT luckily we had a "consolation prize" that made up for it all. When we were on the road, in a place that was not a viewpoint, we saw two stopped cars. We thought "well, if they are here it is because there is something" and indeed this was so 😅.
Debo decir que era un poco frustrante no poder parar casi en ningún lado, pero imagínense que estos lagos estan al costado de una ruta muy transitada: no había lugar como para hacer alguna maniobra rara de estacionamiento, o peor aún, detenerse en cualquier lado. De todas formas nos conformamos con ver el resto de los lagos al pasar, PERO por suerte tuvimos un "premio consuelo" que compensó todo. Cuando íbamos por la ruta, en un lugar que no era un mirador vimos dos autos detenidos. Pensamos "bueno, si están acá es porque algo hay" y efectivamente esto fue así 😅.
Chasing people and after dodging a couple of trees and going down a bit, what we found was a nice hidden waterfall. Unlike Lago Escondido, here we were able to get a little closer to see it up close. This place was so beautiful and calm that I would have liked to have my mate kit ready to drink some while I listened to the water and admired the landscape ❤️.
Persiguiendo a la gente y luego de esquivar un par de árboles y bajar un poco, lo que encontramos fue una linda cascada escondida. A diferencia del Lago Escondido, aquí sí pudimos acercarnos un poco más para ver desde cerca. Este lugar era tan lindo y tranquilo que me hubiese gustado tener mi equipo de mate listo para tomar algunos mientras escuchaba el agua y admiraba el paisaje ❤️.
I will never get tired of saying that the south of Argentina is beautiful. Although this destination is one of the most important in winter due to the snow, it can be enjoyed all year round, as we did this summer. After having seen these beautiful places, we continued our way along Route 40: we had not yet reached the main destination for that day and we were already loaded with a lot of serotonin 😅.
Nunca me voy a cansar de decir que el sur de Argentina es hermoso. A pesar de que este destino es uno de los más importantes en invierno por la nieve, se lo puede disfrutar todo el año, como lo hicimos nosotros este verano. Después de haber visto estos lugares hermosos, continuamos nuestro camino por la Ruta 40: aún no habíamos llegado al destino principal de ese día y ya íbamos cargados con un montón de serotonina 😅.
