When I started this trip I knew that the plan was to see several things: I had read the names of the places but I did not look for anything on the Internet, I preferred to see everything with my own eyes. Several of those of us who were there also knew the following destination only by name, so after the visit to Aconcagua and Christ the Redeemer of the Andes , we were still excited to have the possibility of knowing a new place. In this case, it was the Puente del Inca, a very popular destination there in the province of Mendoza ❤️.
Cuando emprendí este viaje sabía que el plan era ver varias cosas: había leído los nombres de los lugares pero no busqué nada en Internet, prefería ver todo con mis propios ojos. Varios de los que allí estabamos también conocían el siguiente destino solo de nombre, así que después de la visita al Aconcagua y al Cristo Redentor de los Andes, seguíamos emocionados por tener la posibilidad de conocer un lugar nuevo. En este caso, se trataba del Puente del Inca, un destino muy popular allí en la provincia de Mendoza ❤️.
After climbing that part of the Andes mountain range I felt a bit dizzy: I was quite cold, I didn't have enough shelter to have been in that place and even though we stayed for less than an hour, I think I lost a bit of the ability to regulate my body temperature. Luckily, my traveling companion, who stayed at the base of the hill, waited for me with some warm "mates" ❤️.
Después de subir a aquella parte de la cordillera de los Andes me sentí un poco mareada: pasé bastante frío, no tenía abrigo suficiente para haber estado en ese lugar y a pesar de que estuvimos menos de una hora, creo que perdí un poco la capacidad de regular mi temperatura corporal. Por suerte, mi compañera de viaje, quién se quedó en la base del cerro, me esperó con unos mates calentitos ❤️.

After a while we got on the bus again to continue our course. This bus was like our home for all those days: we literally spent more time in it than in the hotel. Luckily it was very comfortable next and after a short trip of about half an hour, we were already at our stop.
Después de un rato otra vez subimos al micro para continuar nuestro rumbo. Este micro fue como nuestra casa durante todos esos días: literalmente pasamos más tiempo en él que en el hotel. Por suerte era siguiente muy cómodo y después de un pequeño viaje de alrededor de media hora, ya estabamos en nuestra parada.
This place is located in the department of Las Cuevas within the province of Mendoza and is prepared as a parador to receive tourists from all over who come traveling through this route. Despite the fact that the day was sunny and beautiful, the wind was quite strong and the cold continued despite being almost summer.
Este lugar se encuentra en el departamento de Las Cuevas dentro de la provincia de Mendoza y está preparado como un parador para recibir turistas de todas partes que vienen viajando a través de esta ruta. A pesar de que el día estaba soleado y hermoso, el viento era bastante fuerte y continuaba el frío a pesar de ser casi verano.
When you arrive at the place, what you see is a landscape of orange colors, the bridge and an abandoned construction as if it were a building. The good thing is that for people who did not know anything about this place (like me) there were posters that explained the whole story.
Al llegar al lugar, lo que se ve es un paisaje de colores anaranjados, el puente y una construcción abandonada como si fuera un edificio. Lo bueno es que para las personas que no sabían nada sobre este lugar (como yo) habían carteles que iban explicando toda la historia.
The legend that tries to explain the formation of this place says that the heir to the throne of the Inca empire was very ill, so they recommended that he go to this place where a river of healing hot springs ran.
La leyenda que intenta explicar la formación de este lugar dice que el heredero al trono del imperio Inca se encontraba muy enfermo, por lo que le recomendaron que se dirija hacia este lugar en donde corría un río de aguas termales sanadoras.
They say that to cross the river, the warriors who accompanied the heir formed a bridge so that he could cross on his back, and that once on the other side, the heir saw that all those people had petrified forming this bridge.
Dicen que para cruzar el río, los guerreros que acompañaban al heredero formaron un puente para que puediera cruzar sobre sus espaldas, y que una vez del otro lado, el heredero vio que todas esas personas se habían petrificado formando este puente.
The truth is that this river does have hot springs, so in 1900 a hotel was built that was intended to receive tourists who sought to heal different conditions. That is the construction that is currently seen.
Lo cierto es que este río sí tiene aguas termales, por lo que en el año 1900 se construyó un hotel que pretendía recibir turistas que buscaban sanar distintas afecciones. Esa es la construcción que se ve actualmente.
But then the hotel was abandoned and later an avalanche destroyed it, leaving it uninhabitable. They say that long ago they allowed tourists to go down to that place, but now unfortunately it is not like that. It would have been interesting to be able to access it to see it up close.
Pero luego el hotel fue abandonado y posteriormente un alúd lo terminó de destruir, dejandolo inhabitable. Dicen que tiempo atrás permitían a los turistas bajar hasta ese lugar, pero ahora lamentablmente no es así. Hubiese sido interesante poder acceder para verlo desde cerca.
At the time of year we visited there was almost no water due to the proximity to summer, but in winter this whole area is covered with snow and then the thaw does its thing. That would be an interesting postcard to see, I have not visited the snow since 2012 (last and only time) 😂.
En la época del año que lo visitamos casi no había agua debido a la cercanía con el verano, pero en invierno toda esta zona está cubierta de nieve y luego el deshielo hace lo suyo. Esa sería una postal interesante para ver, yo no visito la nieve desde el año 2012 (última y única vez) 😂.
And in order not to lose the habit, I continue to conquer the height. This place is 2700 meters above sea level, a little higher than what I am normally used to 😂.
Y para no perder la costumbre, sigo conquistando la altura. Este lugar se encuentra a 2700 metros sobre el nivel del mar, un poco más alto de lo que estoy acostumbrada normalmente 😂.

In case you wanted to take shelter a bit from the wind and see beautiful things, there were several craft stalls and souvenir items to take away. You could find elements of ceramics, precious stones, jewelery and of course food.
Por si querías refugiarte un poco del viento y ver cosas lindas, allí había varios puestos de artesanías y artículos para llevar de recuerdo. Se podían encontrar elementos de cerámicas, piedras preciosas, bijouterie y por supuesto comida.
My youngest sister had asked me to buy her a necklace made of some pretty gem from that place. In all the places I visited there were some, but none convinced me for it. I wanted it to be really cute, until I found this one that I absolutely loved. This stone is called "meteor shower", and in the sun you can see some beautiful sparkles. I immediately knew that was what I wanted, and luckily I got it at a good price ❤️.
Mi hermana más chica me había pedido que le comprara de aquel lugar un collar de alguna linda gema. En todos los lugares que visité había alguna, pero ninguna me convencía para ella. Quería que sea de verdad linda, hasta que encontré esta que me encantó por completo. Esta piedra se llama "lluvia de estrellas", y en el sol se ven unos destellos preciosos. De inmediato supe que eso era lo que quería, y por suerte la conseguí a buen precio ❤️.
I found this place very interesting: I really liked the story of the petrified warriors to save the heir. All the legends that try to explain natural formations fascinate me because I like to compare them by what has actually happened, which is the effect of nature on surfaces. But it is good to believe that there is something more 😅.
Este lugar me pareció muy interesante: me gustó mucho la historia de los guerreros petrificados para salvar al heredero. Todas las leyendas que intentan explicar las formaciones naturales me fascinan porque me gusta compararlas por lo que en realidad habrá pasado, que es el efecto de la naturaleza en las superficies. Pero está bueno creer que hay algo más 😅.

More and more I am convinced that domestic tourism is what I love: my country has so many interesting places full of stories that I would like to know as much as possible. For now, I go with these travel groups, but perhaps with my own vehicle it would be more relaxed and could go further. For now I'm just daydreaming, but fate is unpredictable so I will try to make that happen for me one day ❤️.
Cada vez más me convenzo de que el turismo interno es lo que me encanta: mi país tiene tantos lugares interesantes y llenos de historias que quisiera conocer lo más posible. Por ahora, voy con estos grupos de viaje, pero quizás con un vehículo propio sería más relajado y podría ir más lejos. Por ahora solo estoy soñando despierta, pero el destino es impredecible así que intencionaré para que algún día eso se me cumpla ❤️.
