Barcelona!
Greeting travel lovers!
Welcome to another edition of #TravelThursday! It’s part of my #HiveBloPoMo schedule, where I take you with me on a throwback trip somewhere…
A way for me to deal with the fact that I can’t really travel now.
But without further ado…
Welcome to Barcelona, Spain.
Disclaimer, this is dubbed the part 2 because I’ve already posted some pics of Barcelona couple of months ago.
I’ve been lucky enough to visit Barcelona 3 times. I absolutely love the city vibe. I don’t know if you’ve ever been but it has this ‘busy’ and laid back vibe all at once. Take the popular ‘Ramblas’ for example and you’ll see so many people walking!
But then you visit a place like Montjuïc and it’s calm, peaceful and serene.
We stayed in a hotel in the middle of the city and I went out for a walk at around 9 pm, and it was much more AWAKE then I would have imagined. I went on a solo bar-hopping tour (no no, nothing crazy, just some sightseeing cause I was awake anyway), met few other tourists and hung out for a few drinks.
The next night we caught a fountain show. I call it a show cause it was beautiful. There was crowd gathered and everything!
The next day we took the famous Tourist Bus, you know those Red, Blue and Yellow, hop-on and off busses that take you to anything you want to see.
It’s a quite handy system!
Barcelona also has a lot more hills than I would have guessed (yes I didn’t know back then 😁). But this makes it an excellent visit if you like viewpoints that look over the whole city. There is even a famous church on top of a hill!
We were there on a special football (soccer) trip. This is where travel agents smartly add a weekend stay to one the FC Barcelona’s games. Full disclosure, I’m a Real Madrid fan, but a sports fan first and foremost so there was no way I was going to pass up the opportunity to visit Camp Nou.
check me out in my The Matrix coat 🤣
This is one of those cities where you really can’t and should not ignore the architecture!
Search for Gaudi for example and you’ll see the most interesting gothic-style building you can imagine!
There is more than just Gaudi of course...
'Temple of the Sacred Heart of Jesus'
That’s it for me today!
Hope you guys enjoyed my trip!
As always, connect with me in the comments!
Cheers,
