Very good day to the whole community, today I am going to show you some beautiful places of my trip to Salvador de Bahia, in Brazil.
Muy buen día a toda la comunidad, hoy les voy a mostrar algunos hermosos lugares de mi viaje a Salvador de Bahía, en Brasil.
We stayed in a historic hotel, located within the historic center of the city, the Hotel Pestana Convento Do Carmo, in the “Pelourinho”.
As its name indicates formerly it was a convent, so the arrangement of the rooms is forming a gallery that overlooks a central lung where there is a pool to cool off, art galleries and the restaurant. It is old, but it is very well maintained, it is very cozy.
Nos alojamos en un hotel histórico, ubicado dentro del casco histórico de la ciudad, el Hotel Pestana Convento Do Carmo, en el “Pelourinho”.
Como su nombre lo indica antiguamente era un convento, por lo que la disposición de las habitaciones es formando una galería que da a un pulmón central donde se encuentra una pileta para refrescarse, galerías de arte y el restaurant. Es antiguo, pero está muy buen cuidado, es muy acogedor.
Visiting the "Pelourinho" is an adventure, you have to walk, go up and down the cobbled streets of old cobblestones. All the construction in the surrounding area is Portuguese style. There are many beautiful places to know and not to mention the churches, there is for all tastes.
One of the characteristics of the place are the street vendors, with their immaculate white dresses and wide skirts, and they are an attraction.
Visitar el “Pelourinho” es toda una aventura, hay que caminar, subir y bajar por las calles empedradas de antiguos adoquines. Toda la construcción en los alrededores es de estilo portuguesa. Hay muchos lugares hermosos para conocer y ni hablar de las iglesias, hay para todos los gustos.
Una de las características del lugar son las vendedoras ambulantes, con sus vestidos blancos inmaculados y sus amplias faldas, ya ellas son todo un atractivo.
On the route we can find "El Elevador Lacerda", which is a huge public elevator that connects what they call the Upper City with the Lower City (everything is in a huge ravine). It is very nice the view from the top and when one goes down, almost in front is the Mercado Modelo, full of crafts, food and gifts to buy.
En el recorrido podemos encontrar “El Elevador Lacerda”, que es un enorme ascensor público que conecta lo que llaman la Ciudad Alta con la Ciudad Baja (todo está en un enorme barranco).
Es muy linda la vista desde lo alto y cuando uno baja, casi en frente está el Mercado Modelo, lleno de artesanías, comida y regalos para comprar.
I recommend as a possible excursion to get on one of the many boats and sail to Frades Island, it is a full day excursion, but not only do you appreciate the sea, the vegetation and a beautiful beach where you can eat by the sea, but you can see the customs of the inhabitants of the island. It's worth it!
Recomiendo como una posible excursión subirse a uno de los tantos barquitos y navegar hasta la isla Frades, es una excursión de día completo, pero no solo se aprecia el mar, la vegetación y una hermosa playa donde comer a la orilla del mar, sino que se ven las costumbres propias de los habitantes de la isla. ¡Vale la pena!
If you travel to Brazil do not forget to visit Salvador de Bahia, it has a lot of charm and history! I recommend them.
