Llegamos a Ambato en la madrugada, como a las 4am. Tomamos un taxi en dirección al hotel donde se hospedaba un amigo, justo frente al Parque 12 de Noviembre.
We arrived in Ambato at dawn, around 4am. We took a taxi to the hotel where a friend was staying, right in front of 12 de Noviembre Park.
En la mañana, ya al amanecer fuimos a recorrer algunas calles y lugares cercanos con nuestro amigo Alexander, era un día soleado con un muy buen clima como para ir a caminar y conocer algunos lugares hermosos que la ciudad de Ambato tiene para ofrecer a sus visitantes.
In the morning, at dawn we went to visit some streets and nearby places with our friend Alexander, it was a sunny day with a very good weather to go for a walk and see some beautiful places that the city of Ambato has to offer its visitors.

Así, andando y andando llegamos al "Parque de los Enamorados", pero lamentablemente aún estaba cerrado por el tema de la pandemia, así que tuvimos que admirar sus arbustos bien podados desde afuera. Alcancé a tomar algunas fotos que comparto con ustedes.
So, walking and walking we arrived at "Parque de los Enamorados" (Park of lovers, of enamored), but unfortunately it was still closed due to the pandemic, so we had to admire its well-pruned bushes from the outside. I managed to take some photos that I share with you.

Luego pasamos por un mirador muy bonito que tiene ésta ciudad, conocido como "el reloj de Ambato", creo que su nombre oficial es "Paseo Pelileo". De cualquier manera, es un lugar muy agradable, desde donde se puede ver buena parte de la ciudad. Me parece que sus acabados en vidrio y acero le dan un toque steampunk que para mi resulta muy llamativo. El reloj es hermoso y de noche se ilumina, de manera que se alcanza a ver desde lejos.

Then we pass by a very nice viewpoint that this city has, known as "the clock of Ambato", I think its official name is "Paseo Pelileo". In any case, it is a very nice place, from where you can see a good part of the city. It seems to me that its glass and steel finishes give it a steampunk touch that for me is very striking. The clock is beautiful and at night it lights up, so that it can be seen from afar.

La comida autóctona no podía faltar, probamos unas deliciosas tortillas de maíz que nos dejaron enamorados, muy económicas y con mucho sabor. Preparadas de manera tradicional, con queso y mantequilla. También preparan unas tortillas con plátano verde, son recetas que me parecieron sencillas pero con mucho sabor, muy alimenticias y muy autóctonas. Nos encantaron.
The native food could not be missing, we tried some delicious corn tortillas that left us in love, very cheap and with a lot of flavor. Prepared in a traditional way, with cheese and butter. They also prepare some tortillas with green plantain, they are recipes that seemed simple to me but with a lot of flavor, very nutritious and very native. We loved them.

A los pocos días de estar en Ambato, rentamos una habitación cómoda en algún lugar, con lo cual los gatos ya podían estar más cómodos, salir al patio a jugar y todo el tema. Así que luego estuvimos conociendo los lugares cercanos a ese domicilio...
A few days after being in Ambato, we rented a comfortable room somewhere, with which the cats could be more comfortable, go out to the patio to play and the whole thing. So then we were getting to know the places near that address...

Uno de los primeros lugares cercanos que visitamos fue el Mercado Mayorista de Ambato, un mercado que nos sorprendió mucho por lo inmenso que es, y la gran variedad y calidad de productos que se encuentran allí. Una cantidad ENORME de frutas, verduras, y legumbres de la mejor calidad y a precios que solo el Ecuador te puede ofrecer. Con una atención inmejorable y muy pero muy bien organizado.
One of the first nearby places we visited was the "Mercado Mayorista de Ambato" (Wholesale Market of Ambato), a market that surprised us a lot because of how huge it is, and the great variety and quality of products found there. A HUGE amount of fruits, vegetables, and legumes of the best quality and at prices that only Ecuador can offer you. With unbeatable attention and very, very well organized.

Otro lugar enorme y supremamente hermoso que tuvimos la oportunidad de visitar, y esta vez con la compañía de nuestros amigos fue el Parque de las Flores de Ambato, un espacio de casi 5 hectáreas con una gran variedad de flores, un completo deleite visual que acompañado con el clima templado de Ambato lo convierten en un lugar mágico para pasear y conocer.
Another enormous and supremely beautiful place that we had the opportunity to visit, and this time with the company of our friends, was the Parque de las Flores de Ambato (Flower Park of Ambato), a space of almost 5 hectares with a great variety of flowers, a complete visual delight that accompanied With the temperate climate of Ambato, they make it a magical place to walk and discover.

La pasamos muy bien en Ambato, pudimos compartir tiempo con nuestros amigos, conocer lugares muy lindos, comer comidas muy deliciosas... Hasta nos dio tiempo de hacer un pequeño viaje a Baños de Agua Santa! Muy agradecidos con la ciudad.
We had a great time in Ambato, we were able to share time with our friends, get to know very nice places, eat very delicious meals... We even had time to make a little trip to Baños de Agua Santa! Very grateful to the city.

Inclusive, alcanzamos a hacer un pequeño show para los niños pequeños de una escuela. Fue un evento rápido, poco coordinado y todo pero lo disfrutamos mucho.
We even managed to put on a small show for the young children of a school. It was a quick event, uncoordinated and all, but we really enjoyed it.
Ya para la segunda semana de Marzo se nos iba acabando el mes de arriendo, como despedida de la ciudad fuimos a restaurante cercano donde servían comida preparada en piedra volcánica, una especialidad de la zona puesto hay un volcán activo más o menos cerca (El volcán Tungurahua). Un restaurante donde las mascotas son bienvenidas, así que llevamos a nuestros gatitos viajeros.
By the second week of March we were running out of the month of rent, as a farewell to the city we went to a nearby restaurant where they served food prepared in volcanic stone, a specialty of the area since there is an active volcano more or less nearby (The volcano Tungurahua). A restaurant where pets are welcome, so we brought our traveling kitties.

Y bueno, ya tocó hacer las maletas. Inmensamente agradecidos con Ambato y su gente, estuvimos poco más de un mes por allá, la pasamos increíblemente bien y solo nos queda dar las gracias...
