She walked up with a start as her alarm blared, cussing as she realized that she had unknowingly fallen asleep on her desk. Squinting against the light coming off the screen, she jolted further awake as the blinking cursor on her Word document greeted her. Shit, it was supposed to be today!
Wiping the drool that dried on the side of her face, she got back to finishing the document she was working on, subconsciously thinking that it was an otherwise nice and quiet morning in her dorm that she's able to concentrate quickly.
It wasn't until she'd showered and finished getting ready for her class that day that the sudden quietness of her dorm's corridors started making her uneasy. She tried not to make her sneakers squeak against the floors just as she nears the open areas. That's when she heard frantic shuffling, and the chaos that welcomed her under the morning light made her drop her printed papers.
There's no such thing as a late essay amidst a zombie apocalypse, right?
