Tin foil hat

Apart from foils being used to withstand heat and not letting the moisture out, one of the first times I saw a person wear a tin foil hat I thought it was just for fun or didn't attach any other meaning to it.
There was this time that Bori, one of my uncle's friends wore it and it seemed weird as he was a bit too skeptic and tends to do things quite randomly. They can be pretty fond of pressing each other's emotions so Foday sneakily pulled it off Bori's head and he got so mad and worried that he felt like going away until someone else calmed him down telling him that it's okay and that the tin foil hat can be gone but they'll be there for him.
Not that Foday needed to but it was as if he was possesd by the same thing he was using as a defender against any evil or otherwise malicious thing.
Am sure that certain things can be really effective based on purpose but at times the bearer may project his/her insecurities to it and then there becomes a problem.
Plus....they are not hard to make so perhaps it didn't need to create much fussing.
