It's been a while since I posted... Emergencies at work and people suddenly wanting me to do photography for them.

I was watching my silly dog lying on his back and I began to contemplate the ease with which we fall into ruts and complacency. It doesn't take much... Just a level of perceived comfort. All we need is what we are doing now to be more comfortable than the thing we know we should be doing.

In Tony Robbins' book "Awaken the Giant Within" he uses a version of this principle to get people to self motivate... Simply amplify all the negatives in your current situation and all the positives in your future situation.

It's as simple as : We avoid pain and move toward pleasure.

Make your current situation seem undesirable enough and whatever you are working towards like a utopia and your mind with gravitate you toward your desired state.

Conversely, it your current state is left as "good enough" procrastination will set in because you tell your mind that it's unnecessary to change or move.

Short, sweet, but powerful.
